Hello John.

If you are still have a problem, call the tech service dept at Iwata-Medea at 503-253-7308 and ask to speak to Adam Rice. I just got off the phone with him as I have been having a problem with my Iwata airbrush. Adam can trouble shoot your airbrush as you speak with him. He solved my problem and I'm sure he can help you outCool [8D]

No Mike, it doesn't spray any paint until I pull back on the trigger. It does however leak paint into the needle cap. I've cleaned the needle several times and to no avail. I have yet to remove the nozzle, though. I may remove it and soak it in lacquer thinner. Perhaps trash has built up inside of it and the seal is no longer complete. Anything else???

Thanks Guys,

John

John,

This may sound simple but are you sure the needle is seating all the way into the tip? Does it spray paint without pulling the trigger back?

Mike

Mike,

The nozzle doesn't appear to be damaged but this stuff is very close tolerance so it wouldn't surprise me. The instruction manual states that in time the nozzle will become worn so I'm with you thinking that it is most likely the nozzle. Think I'll probably go on line and order a new nozzle, needle, and some lube. It's been so long since I bought this that I forget the best online places to shop; can you shoot me a few links?

Thanks Guys,

John

What seals?
The needle bearing is behind the color cup, not in front of it?

As far as the needle not wanting to come out, maybe if you tried some needle juice or similar product that would help. I've used those to good effect.

John,

If paint is getting into the nozzle area then it sounds like maybe you need to replace the tip. Is it damaged so that paint can get past it?

Iwata Airbrush Problem
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, February 7, 2005 11:01 PM
Hey Friends, been awhile since I posted here....so much going on, so little time these days.

Anyway, I hope some knowledgable person can assist me here. I have an Iwata Revolution HP-CR (gravity feed) that has been very good to me up until a few days ago. For about a month now the needle has been difficult to remove after sitting for a couple of days, despite proper clean up after each use. Worse then that and most recently, when I fill the cup with paint, it seems to bleed down and settle in to the nozzle cap. I probably don't need to tell you but this can cause all kinds of grief, as the excess paint that settles in the cap splatters upon triggering the airflow ruining a good paint job.....ARGH! Any suggestions on a fix would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

John
