Seriously, the UK has banned rubbing alcohol?

Next thing you will tell me, is that you can't use your AR-15 to shoot the tops off of ISO alcohol bottles.

You lot better well find some polititians who can nick a bit of common sense.

I am using IPA (ispropyl acholol) which is sold by chemical companies dealing in stuff like thinners, acetone etc. Problem is that they come in a large container and would you need to share with a few friends otherwise, it would last you years. As for the price, four 250ml bottles of Tamiya thinners can get you that one container.

thanks, and i don't know why you can't get rubbing alcohol. Someone might have tried to drink it. Probably tastes better than the cheap gin though, Music city.

I'm surprised you can't get Iso. alchohol. I use the 91% over here. I also use distilled water and auto washer fluid. I've found part washer fluid and distilled water work well. The Iso alchohol works but it can speed drying and if your spraying a large amount at a time you may run into tip dry. I use the distilled water washer mixture cause our water here in Michigan has alot of minerals and it does effect the paint. I live in the country so our water isn't treated. My 2 cents [2c]

QUOTE: I have been told by my local chemist that you cant buy rubbing alcahol now(i live in the uk).

Why in the world not????? Did someone try to commit a murder with a bottle of alcohol?

You can try (as on some scrap to make sure it is going to do what you want) either water or auto washer fluid. You might also try the cheapest gin available. I've never tried that but it's mostly water and alcohol and should work OK.
