Airbush technique resources sticky?

that's something to throw up to the moderaters/editors. it's a good idea but they might have a different take on it...

thanks, I'll have a look at those, although my first airbrush project is going to be a single colour scheme, with preshade and weathering. I've found a crappy games workshop tank to inflict this on.

Anyway, back to my original question - what do you more experienced people think of creating a stickied thread for turorials, techniques etc?

I don't pre-shade but a friend of mine here does exclusively... he preshades the bare model, lightly paints over the model till decent coverage is attained (concentrating on the panels between the preshading for the most part) re preshades over areas a second color will go over then sprays that color lightly as well... concetrating on the inner panel spaces. He then seals it with Future and does any other weathering he wants.

If you want, pop in on the Battle of Britain or Midway group builds as there are several people in the middle of the painting phase of their planes and they have examples of the preshading in the photos there...

Yeah, I'm really liking it at the moment. am a bit crap with it, though.

Actually, I do have a separate query: when preshading camouflage patterns, do you:

1 spray base colour (e.g. lightest camoflage colour)
2 pre shade
3 blend preshade with more base colour
4 spray second camo colour
5 other camo colours etc

doesn't the pre sahde get lost under the other camo colours?

you'll love that brush! I have one and it is a joy to use... let us know how it works for you! BTE: just something I picked up... I tend to use my metal color cup almost exclusively except for broad coverage... it seems to work better and it is a lot easier to clean!
