Applying Non Skid Coating to Armor

Thanks for the link Cougar35. I read the non-slip technique article. Seems like a solid technique to me. He says to get the pressure and spray right on scrap plastic first then spray the model. Also he intentionally wants a bit of splatter. Olsen's technique is good too. I will probably try both at some point.

I don't model amour but i can share a technique i use for non skid surfaces such as on aircraft wings. I mask and airbrush a layer of paint and then sprinkle talcum powder over the top when the paint is still wet. I then blow off the excess and repaint to colour and seal . You can apply several applications of talc depending on how rough you want the surface.
This technique is simple and looks great.I hope this helps you and maybe its something you would like to try on your amour models. Happy modeling , ............Peter.

What article is this? Is it online? Sounds like Mr. Surfacer 500 will work. There are a few threads about this in the armor forum. You could try re-posting this question in the armor forum also.
