Thinning Tamiya Lacquer - what to use?

Mr Color is lacquer thinner and should work well but I've never actually used it with decanted Tamiya paint. It's fairly mild and probably equates to a slow thinner. I used to use it a lot but bought a gallon of slow thinner locally because of the cost. Slow lacquer thinner is hard to find nowadays unless someone can order it for you and even if they can order it, it may not be in stock. At least that's the way it is around here. If there's any custom shops around that use House of Kolor paints they may have some. Body shops like to use urethanes now and for a lot of them the only lacquer thinner they have around is the cheap stuff they use as a cleaner. Retarder will help but with hardware store thinner you may have to add a good bit. As you know, that stuff dries fast.

If you want to order some thinner you can get it in smaller quantities from Coast Airbrush.

Any reason why you can't use Tamiya's own laquer thinner?

I dont want to wait for mail order as my LHS does not carry Tamiya Lacquer thinner. But from what I read that would be ideal.
