Saga Update for those that care...or don't........

For those who have followed my follies as a newbie to the world of Airbrushing.

UPS trashed one Badger Trillion Air compressor in transit and dented the replacement compressor that was double boxed by BearAir that arrived last Monday. The company I bought from, BearAir has been nothing but helpful and kind throughout and has been forth coming with full refunds on both compressor's. They also let UPS have it from their end as we gave it to UPS from our end. I have no problems doing business with BearAir in the future and would have tried a third go round on a compressor with them but they didn't carry the model I decided to upgrade to since all the Trillion Air hassles.

The compressor I decided on is the Iwata-Medea Great White Shark, I know, overkill for models. I also want to be able to do Graphics, T-Shirts and a few other things....don't forget the cats.....The two places I looked at were DixieArt and CoastAirBrush. Since I live in Arizona, CoastAirbrush seemed like the best choice to do business with and after talking with them by phone they said that they ship this compressor by FedX. So now I have a compressor on order and they also said that Medea puts their name on the compressor but it's made by Panther, who are tied with SilentAir and it's called a Black Panther compressor. So hopefully I'll have better luck with a cat over a badger and I do like kitties.....I was very impressed with the service so far from CoastAirBrush along with all the info, they said they also stock all replacement/service parts for said compressor and they would beat all advertised prices.

Final note, I'm still going rounds with UPS over an international package that they delivered across town to the wrong address and the shipper did have the proper address on the package which I have confirmed, all UPS has said so far is driver and hub error and I still don't have that package. UPS is way down on my list and when I can, I'll FedX or use other carriers then use them.

This hobby is so fun and relaxingTongue [:P], I'm lucky to have a very sweet and understanding wife and I'm keeping her!

Thanks for listening.

I have to agree with you Robert, UPS is by far the worst for delivery. I'd sent USPS even before I call those nasty brown truck guys. I wish you all the best of luck in retrieving that package.

Isn't it so fun and relaxing! Smile [:)] Once you get your deliveries and everything is fine, it will become enjoyable. So then... no plans on shipping the wife UPS eh? LOLTongue [:P]

Good luck with your new compressor.  Thumbs Up [tup]

I've had poor luck with mail order/ UPS as well.  I think they might use our packages as wheel chocks for the trucks and planes.  Just a thought...  Laugh [(-D]

Jim,

No plans ever shipping this wife, my 2nd and last Big Smile [:D] and she wants to build models and learn to Airbrush too.

Bud,

Before the compressor problems I started on a 1/25 scale 65 El Camino and got as far as the engine work and started adding the plug wires, that's where I stopped and wanted to paint the body and hood and dicovered the compressor problems. This compressor that's on order will actually be the 4th one. The first was an T & C Airstar that was just bad and then the two Trillion Airs that UPS damaged.

After looking further into the Great White Shark, it's really a Werther compressor under the Panther line of compressor's, good quality, long lasting and if FedEX delivers it right we should be a happy camper.

On the model lines, I want to build 1/25th scale Chevy/GM cars along with Harley bikes any scale and then a few WW2 prop jobs and a few Navy ships. The wife wants to build the aircraft she worked on while in the Marines, like the OA-4, OV-10 etc...

With this compressor we would like to play around with doing a few T-shirts and if I get halfway decent I would like to do some graphics on my bikes tank and fenders along with painting all the models.
