Hello, chap
As for the compressor, I think that apart from big industrial beasts, all the compressors we are supposed to use in this matter are equipped, or be able to be, with a 1/8  (or 1/4) inch exit; in fact, you don't need  to change  your hose if you like it , the only difference is in the airbrush end  which  is suited to the very airbrush; so Mr Lermytte will  send you an adapter from your hose to the quick connect of the airbrush (which is in NW 2.7 gauge, by the way ) If you want to go further, you can equip your compressor with a quick connect  and the the airhose will have the matching  male connector ( here the  gauge is NW 5.0 ) but  do this only if you  consider  several airbrushes of several brands. This can be done afterwards.

As for the FPC, I told you  that it worked  like the Iwata  MAC air valve; if you want an analogy, it will work like the microtuners  that you can find on the saddle of some electric guitars ( the same sometimes on one string on violins) it helps fine tune the string; the FPC fine tunes the pressure: it won't really affect the pressure gauge on your compressor, only the pressure loss when you push the trigger, it is more a question of feeling but :
_ yes, you can live without it
_yes, I find it as a bonus
_yes, I am very happy of having bought them to retrofit my Evolutions ( both the .15 and the .40 )

_ Last point, while we are building the "top fuel" airbrush, you could consider the old model of needle travel limiter which is sold as a spare part: the Silverline, be it FPC or not, is equipped with a needle travel limiter, which is a mechanism you use to limit the opening of the flow by avoiding the needle to fully disengage backwards, so you can go from zero to what you preset and you change this preset by screwing/unscrewing the tail button. You can find this on Badger, Iwata, Aztek, Efbe, etc... (I speak only of what I know)
BUT the old system has one plus; you can switch on/off the preset by pulling a ring around the button so the airbrush switches from preset to full range in a snap ( and reverse by pushing the button ) without having to change your preset . H&S is the only brand I know which proposes this option.
I use one on my .15 Evolution , not on my .40

Okay, while I speak to you of all those options , I begin to think that the final bill could be high, but it is like a PC computer, you can upgrade afterwards when you assault old ladies who get out of their bank, as the expense is not so high ( some Iwata nozzles hurt you in the purse when you must change them )

I hope I replied to your questions. You know where to find me anyway.

Thank you all for coming José

That was the exact model I was looking at!. One question though; I'm pretty much settled on a Solentaire 30-TC compressor. I don't have a clue on what fitting I'll need at the other end of the airhose. All that metric system stuff makes me crazy, as we don't use it here. I E-mailed them Friday night, but I may have to wait until next week to get an answer. Do you like the FPC air control valve?

If you only want one airbrush, order the Two In One : one airbrush with a 2cc and a 5 cc cups, and a 0.2 and a 0.4 mm complete sets, all in one case; there are other combinations, Obeeliks has a lot of spares ( I ordered a 15 cc cup and cap two days ago and waiting for it ) The new Silverline line is all nickel everywhere, if I understood well; you can take the FPC ( Fine Pressure Control ) already set on the airbrush or order it afterwards; I put them on two former models ( not Silverline) in about 2'30" for two FPC ( only time when you will need a wrench to set it ); it is equivalent to the MAC valve of Iwata as far as I catch it, well, I feel them as doing same kind of effect.
One last thing : I understand that there can be a lot of fans of American airbrushes in USA, but there are nevertheless a number of Iwata fans, I don't understand why there are no more H&S fans due to the quality of the product; we are (happy) few but as far as I see it, all delighted of it; you won't be disappointed with it; if you need more informations, I will be ...on the FSM forum, and I am not alone.

If I were you, as you can break something on Saturday evening and Obeeliks is quite far, I'd take :
-one extra nozzle of each
-two extra needles of each
-a cap for each cup
-a little set of washers ( for the big trouble)
-the adapter for you hose, naturally; believe me, quick connect is great

Glad to help you, chap.

P.S.  Instructions are in :
_Deutsch
_English
_Français
_Italiano
_Español
_Nederlands
_Svenska

so to say that you are in big trouble if you only speak ancient Egyptian or Aramean, but as there were no airbrushes in the pyramids...

Thank you all for coming José

There is a cap available for the 2 cc cup, there is a cap available for the 5 cc cup, there is a cup available for the 15 cc cup ( yes sir, you can use the Colani cup, even the 50 gr and the 100 gr ones, the Iwata Kustom  airbrushes are losing the play on this point ) but you must buy them separately ( a few euros each anyway ). You can ask precisions to Jan Lermytte and he will answer to everything. When I was planning to buy one, I sent his a message : well, I am this and that , I want to do this and that, I already owned this and that and I would like to know this and that...As soon as he replied to me, I rushed to order it and never went back on my opinion to them ( and I like Obeeliks people a lot as they are always ready to answer a  question ) I own a number of airbrushes ( kind of small collection) and Evolution are top rank among them. Don't misunderstand me, I am no  airbrush guru as they  did not make me a  better airbrusher, the only thing I say is  : open the case, take  it in hand : you know you are on something special.
On the quick connect/disconnect, there was the changing factor, so when I bought a new airbrush all this time, I managed to find the quick connect adapter : 6 brands of airbrushes, one hose for all.
By the way , you can open your airbrush with your bare hands, no need of tools, as far as cleaning is concerned ( no changing  air valve or other stuff like that )

Thank you all for coming José

Ronj,

Not sure about the top cap.  I don't think one was provided with the set and I can't check for you because my modeling stuff is still packed away after a recent move.  I had a couple of top caps that came with my Iwatas but never had a use for them.  For me, they would be a waste.  I have a Iwata Smartjet compressor that I use with my Evolution.  Before I ordered my Evolution I e-mailed Obeeliks with a bunch of questions.  I got quick responses from the owner, I think his name is Jan.  He provided me with the correct connector for my Iwata compressor.  I am also not sure about the instructions being in English.  Can't check that either because they are packed away with my airbrush.  I suggest you e-mail Obeeliks with any questions and get the correct answers from them.  When/if you place your order, tell them what compressor you need the connector for and they will set you up with the correct one.  It is going to be some time before I start modeling again.  Awesome airbrush, you won't be sorry if you buy one.

Doing research for new airbrush. Saw your post on the HS Evolution. I'm really intrigued about the fact the needle exits through the front of the brush. I could use some help with a few questions about this tool. Is a top cap available with the large cup? Their airhose comes with a quick disconnect, and fitting at the other end for the eurotec compressor. How would you connect to compressors offered here eg. Silentaire, Power Jet, Sparmax etc? Does instruction manual come in English version? Thanks ahead
