Yeah, that's why I suggested using stretched sprue. Tried it once with painted 5-amp fuse wire, was sorta OK for 1/48, but the paint rubbed off. The sprue method works well, with practice, down to 1/72 - here are a couple of seats for 1/72 F-104Gs.

Cheers,

Chris.

that's real close to something i'm trying on a 1/32 build,,it hit me at work.

I work in telecommunications and just happened to be twisting up scrap pieces of phone wire and twisted a yellow and black piece,,,looked right for that scale, but no smaller

This method works well: get some thin yellow stretched sprue and some thin black stretched sprue. Twist them together. Run some thin superglue down the twisted threads, and leave to set. Hey presto! striped bang handles and no painting.

In fairness, this method has a fairly high wastage rate in terms of stretched sprue, but, then, you don't need much, and the stuff's free, isn't it? Only real problem is that yellow sprue isn't as easy to find as it used to be. However, in Europe, at least Revell AG's recent re-issue of the Heller 1/72 T-6G/ Harvard IV is moulded in yellow plastic.

Cheers,

Chris.

I paint the whole handle yellow. Then I use a micron .005 pen. It has a tip thats 0.20mm and I just draw them on. You can find them in art supply sections most everywhere. I think they are for drafting or something similar.

The other way, is to paint the handle yellow, then mask off the the yellow stipes and paint the black. Ooooooh long, tedious and frustrating. If there are other ways, I want to hear of themBig Smile [:D]

Take this plastic and model it!
