Does anyone have experience with the really cheap (single action external mix) Testor's AB? |

If you mean the A220, which functions much like a miniture garden sprayer, that was my first airbrush, and I used it quite successfully on several models. It's spray pattern is not controllable to any significant degree, but with correct paint thinning, it lays down a nice coat of paint. I can't complain about its atomization. Certainly not as good as a regular airbrush, it paints a lot better than a rattle can.

Just to throw out some food for thought, you might consider the Paasche H Set. Aside from the small and medium tips, color cup, and small siphon bottle, it also comes with a large bottle and large tip. I use it to spray varnish.
