If it helps, I believe the actual reference colours are:

FS 34094 Green
FS 30051 Brown
FS 37030 Black

Actually, if you just want to use enamels instead of acrylics, you should be able to get the same Tamiya colours (XF-67, XF-68, XF-69) in their enamel range.

Greg,

For general paint conversions try:

http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/colorcharts_2.asp

Unfortunately, it does not have the NATO colors listed (I think they are newer paints and these lists are not up-to-the-minute). But the list is still a useful source.

Happy landings,

Tamiya NATO Color Conversion Help

Hi everyone,

I'm building a Humvee right now and the directions it call for XF-67, XF-68, and XF-69 (NATO Green, Brown, Black). I'd like to use Gunze oil based paints for these colors. Does anyone know which ones are the best match? Also, if someone can point me to a good decoder ring that would be wonderful!

Cheers,

Greg
