It does depend on coverage, i.e. how well does the paint color cover the underlying plastic.  Some paints and colors will not cover well and require multiple coats, while others cover with even a single light coat.  I would expect that blue paint over gray or blue plastic which is what I guess your Corsair is molded in, should cover well.  My guess is that you could probably paint two Corsairs with one bottle of paint, and have a bit left over.

IMHO, actual acrylic thinner is better for thinning paint, as they usually have a retarder in it to help the paint level out better before drying.  I use Tamiya thinner for thinning my Tamiya and Gunze acrylics, but have had negative results using it with Aeromaster brand paints. I use 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean the airbrush as it is cheaper than the thinners, saving my good thinner for actual paint spraying.  Hope that helps!

It sure does. You just saved me some money. I've been using acrylic thinner to clean my brushes. Dunce [D)]

So then, does isopropyl alcohol do just as good a job of thinning acrylics as actual acrylic thinner?

Did you already add your thinner to the bottle?  If not, try mixing 1/3 of the bottle with your thinner in a small cup and use that.  If you need more, you can always mix up another batch.

Alpha-

Not quite sure what you're asking.  Are you asking paint to thinner ratios?
