Let's also consider what is meant by "detail?"
Modeling paints are not finely pigmented enough to recommend a Sotar 20/20 with a fine tip and needle, or a Micron, or a Paasche Turbo. These airbrushes require water colors, urethanes or inks to spray reliably through such small micro tips and extra fast needle tapers.
I would argue that a 100LG with a medium tip is all the airbrush you would ever need for modeling unless you want to get really brave and paint something like nose art by hand.
“Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not
to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools
for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know
how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. " Charles Spurgeon
