Hey all, been out of action for some time..good to be back in the forums!

Like MikeV, I had mixed results; most notible was my inability to shoot fine lines thorugh my Iwata HP-CR for camo without emmediate tip clogging.  Other than that, the finish and color availability are excellent.  I too have converted to Tamiya acrylics using 91% or Denatured alcohol for thinner and the results have been outstanding.  In an effort to not be discouraging about MM Acryl; if you have found them useful and they perform well for you... great!  So keep up the enjoyment and have fun with them!  I learn something everyday, so please keep us all informed with any tips and advice using MM Acryl!

Brush painting is the only thing MM acrylics are good for IMO...

I use enamels more than acrylics and generally prefer enamels.  However with my acrylic usage, I haven't seen a lot of difference with airbrushing MM Acryl compared to Tamiya acrylics.  Tamiya may adhere slightly better, although I find MM brush paint a bit better.  Probably the biggest consideration for me is availability of whatever color in which I'm interested.

I had some great results and others that were not good, it seems to be inconsistant to me.

This was done with MM Acryl and came out good:

I hated MM acrylics. Tip dry, too thick, clogging the airbrush...IMHO Tamiya, Pollyscale, and Gunze are better.

Glad you have good experience with it.

I hate the stuff. Much prefer the MM enamels. Anf for acrylics Tamiya and vallejo are far better IMHO.

But if you have good luck with 'em, keep on going! Thumbs Up [tup]

I used to use it but had too many problems with it and switched to Tamiya.

I agree with you.  I loved MM Acryl.  Unfortunately, for some reason, it always gave me a headache.  I use a spray booth and a respirator, but it still gave me a headache.  I had to switch to Tamiya Acrylics.  For really good adhesion, try priming the model first with a lacquer primer.  Also, be sure to get a bottle of Testors Dried Acrylic Cleaner.  Works great on airbrushes and brushes for cleaning Acryl from them.

OK so I just tried MM Acryl paint for the first time and I'm using a Paashe VL. With a Testors mini blue comp. This is the nicest paint Testors has ever put out! And its acrylic to boot. WOW! the coverage is spectacular and the finish is as good as enamel or better. and no fumes, so simple to clean up! AWESOME! great adhesion and I didn't even need to thin it,it shot great the first time rightout of the bottle! tip dry was minimal and I didnt use retarder, If you doubt this stuff just try it you'll be glad you did!Angel [angel]Thumbs Up [tup] Mark.
