Need help finding a hose
Posted by usmc1371 on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 3:03 PM

Hey all,

I need to find a hose for my compressor and I'm having a hard time locating one.  Basically, I need a hose to run from my compressor to my moisture trap/regulator.  I have a Paasche compressor (D300) and a Paasche moisture trap/regulator.  All of the hoses I have found have the airbrush fitting on one end.  I need with two female ends or one female, one male end.  I believe they're 1/4".  Can anyone help?

I had the same problem, (I have a Paasche D500 compressor) So I just got a hose with a built in moisture trap. If I remember, Bill (Bgrigg) told me what connectors and hose to get, so hopefully he'll read this.

Go to a good hardware store or home center.  Look in the plumbing area for brass fittings.  You will find 1/4" fittings that will allow you to connect 2 male ends or 2 female ends, etc.  They are called barrel connectors or double male/female connectors.

Thanks, I understand that.  The problem is, all of the hoses I find have one end with a 1/4" fitting, the other end is made to fit the airbrush.  I need a hose with two 1/4" ends.  Any help?

They also make connectors with 2 different size ends to connect two different sized fittings like you have.  Paasche airbrushes have 1/8" fittings.  I made all my hoses from commercial fittings, I added quick connects to them as well.  Also, check the yellow pages for commercial compressor supply or painting supply companies.  They carry all sorts of brass fittings as well.  Good luck.

How long does the hose need to be Jesse?

You could buy this one at Harbor Freight and put 3/8" NPT to 1/4" NPT fittings on both ends.

One female and the other male.

Thanks Mike.  That more like what I need.  My compressor sits on the floor and want to have my regulator up where I can see it.  3 feet would be fine, I think.

That should do it Jesse.

Find a 3/8" female to 1/4" male fitting and a 3/8" female to 1/4" female fitting and you should be set.
