Bill, as far as I'm aware, Sparmax are made in Taiwan by a company named Ding Hwa Co., Ltd. However, I believe that they manufacture at least some of the compressors in Iwata's range, so there does seem to be a connection. Strangely enough, the instruction leaflet which came with my Sparmax makes a reference to "all models in the HP range" - so I am wondering if it may be a "universal" instruction manual - shared by a number of models/manufacturers - it's not a low-quality toilet-paper photocopy either.
