I've always suspected that Iwata, Richpen, Peak, Sparmax, Mr. Hobby and Tamiya are all made at the same factory, while Precisionaire is made by DeVilbiss.

I have no way of proving that, just a hunch!

Bill, as far as I'm aware, Sparmax are made in Taiwan by a company named Ding Hwa Co., Ltd. However, I believe that they manufacture at least some of the compressors in Iwata's range, so there does seem to be a connection.

Strangely enough, the instruction leaflet which came with my Sparmax makes a reference to "all models in the HP range" - so I am wondering if it may be a "universal" instruction manual - shared by a number of models/manufacturers  - it's not a low-quality toilet-paper photocopy either.

yea, BB Rich.

BB Rich is not it I don't believe, I think they are the distributor as Media is for Iwata or maybe I am confused. I will have to research that as it's been years since I was told by a good friend in the know.

You can't really find the C5 anywhere other than bearair.com since it's their exclusive product and was contracted to be made for them by what we can only suspect BB Rich as a beefed up iwata hp-C.  It sells for 95 bucks or so but compared with the price of an HP-C with a preset handle it's still a bargain.

It is made in the same factory as Iwata.

The artist makes the fine lines not the brush.

Thinner paint, closer distance to the surface, and lower air pressure will provide you finer lines.  You can use that dial on the end of the C5 (if it has the preset handle, which i can't remember) to limit the trigger movement in addition to that.

Fine lines have to do with the paint you are using and the distance from the object you are painting. If you want the finest lines you have to get the airbrush about 1/4" inch or so away from the surface which is very close. If the airbrush has a very small tip and a fast tapering needle you may need to find a paint that can handle that as most modeling paints were not designed to go through such small openings reliably.

I like this airbrush; it is definnitely superior to my old Badger Anthem but I understand the Peak can draw very fine lines. How do I make the pattern thinner? Adjust anything? I hate to bother you but the airbrush had no manual in the box and couldn't find anyting online.
