Jon, are you referring to using the Dried Gloss Coat or Using Future as a Decal Setting Solution ?

Just started back into scale aircraft models, and I tell you what George, everything you hear about using Future is true!  Experiment around with your airbrush pressures, I have found 10-15 to be a good range so far.  Once you start using the Future, you'll find its an awesome material for model builders, and I found out about on FSM forums.  Take it from a fellow New England'r, you find tons of great info on here!

I just read the article in FSM about airbrushing. In the special section Airbrush Gallery Top Tips one of the modelers mentioned Future as a gloss clear. My question is Is that Future floor wax that he is refering to?

Thanks in advance

George

And don't let anybody fool you that it can also be used for floors..... complete urban myth! Big Smile [:D]

Welcome to the forums.

Future is great. In addtion to the uses listed above, I've even used to to attach P/E parts to kits.

It makes decals go on easier, and makes all those lovely panel lines possible.

Even makes instrument panels look good- add a drop to each dial to simulate glass.

That's the stuff, George! Only now it's call Pledge with Future Shine. Future floor finish is nothing more than a clear acrylic and can be brushed on (self levelling) or sprayed on. Our own Swanny wrote the definitive article of Future http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html.

It's also great for dipping clear canopies and you can also mix Tamiya X-21 Flat Base to make dull coats. The mixing chart is in Swanny's article.

BTW welcome to the forum!

So long folks!
