Right, Set is for positioning the decal and to give it some bite into the surface making it easier to adjust. Sol is then added on top to make the decal snuggle down.

Micro sol and Micro set are for two different purposes.  

I've not  had any problems with Solvaset. I haven't used Micro Sol/Set

Thanks.  Like I said I think I'll follow this rule and use the Solvaset for the think ones.  My MicoSol and Set have come and I'll give it a try today.

For a while I only used Solvaset but got back to using Sol and Set for general use and it works fine. I use Solvaset on thick decals or stubborn ones that just don't want to cooperate.

Once you brush on the Solvaset  do NOT touch the decal, try to remove wrinkles, etc. Let it dry overnight and use a new #11 blade to puncture any bubbles or lightly score a wrinkle then sparingly re apply.

Thanks for all the information especially since I'm sure you've answered this, or a similar question, many times in the past.  In any case, I've been reading a lot about Solvaset and based upon that and what I've just read here I think I'll try Micro Sol/Set first and keep the other for the 'hard cases'.

Solvaset is used to apply to the top of the decal, after it is laid down. Use sparingly. I dip the brush in the bottle then dab the excess off on a paper towel before I apply it, sort of like dry brushing.

Only use solvaset if you really need to. It is for emergency use, not a normal procedure.  Most times you will not need any decal solvent.  Setting solution is normally enough.  So apply decals with setting solution only.  Wait for decals to dry.  Only if there is a problem do you resort to solvent.

  Solvaset is reputed to be a very strong setting solution. Especially when compared to the Micro Sol/Set type of solutions.

So be very careful in its  use. But others with more experience should be able to give you  specifics.
