Use gel CA. I use it for two reasons.  First, the slower set time, second, the fact that you do not need a perfect fit, it is gap-filling.

Who says you have to use CA glue? I use regular thin liquid glue myself. Works just as good IMO.

I was hoping to avoid the CA glue since the parts are so small I'm afraid I won't get them aligned properly before it sets up. Which CA glue has the longest working time?

Glue, paint, then decals. How hard is that?  Of course clearcoat to seal in the decals too.

Do you mean paint and decal the missles after they are glued to the aircraft ?

LOL! No, I meant glue the missile halves together, paint, then decal. Then a shot of clearcoat to seal in the decal before attaching to the kit.

Dont worry about scraping anything ,a 1/72 missle will hold just fine with a spot of CA

Have you put the decals on the bombs yet? They never fit right.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I scrape away decals from bond areas the same way I scrape away the paint from those areas.  I use variously a #11 blade, a needle file, or drill a depression through surface into plastic with pin vise and small drill.

Just glue it,the decal isnt going to stop the glue from working,I would use just a little spot of CA glue.

Ditto Anything thats been painted i use CA for.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Decals wrap around small part - how do I glue part after?

My first model in probably 40 years, so this is probably way beyond my capability, but thought I'd ask.

Building a 1/72 scale F-16 which has several small missiles like AIM-9s, which have small decals that wrap around the missile. Since I have to apply the decal first, I can't figure how to glue the part to the plane, since where it makes contact is covered with the decal. Do I scrape off the decal where I need to apply the glue? Or do I put a topcoat on (like Future) over the decals and glue it then?
