My decals arrived today and I've already used one. Went on smoothly and looks great! Now I just need to build another 14 hospital ships so the remaining decals don't go to waste!

An update:

My custom decal from Bedlam Creations is finally on its way to Vancouver! I wrote to Josh Muma on Saturday asking if he had mailed the decals yet. This morning I received this email:

"I apologize. I sent you (sic) decals to another customer with a very similar name. I have reprinted and shipped the decals off to you."

Confused

…The quality is not Cartograph, but it sure as heck beats anything I could do at home.  Not cheap, but neither is the decal paper I'd waste trying to get it done at home.

Since I have settled for the most part on building models of  specific aircraft and ships that I am familiar with, I've had to learn how to make my own decals. Depending on my needs, I use a combination of scanning and image and word processing to create custom decals. I've used two different brands of decal film, one pack each of clear and white film. The best one has been Kodiak — the decals slide off the backing sheet with ease after being moistened for five seconds or so, and are quite robust. I just wish that someone would come up with an affordable printer that could print white on a clear substrate.

Yes, of course, I have wasted some film, but the cost per decal is far less than what I would have paid someone else to make decals for me.

I've ordered from him twice.   The first time there was a delay of a few weeks beyond what I expected, the second went smoothly.   The quality is not Cartograph, but it sure as heck beats anything I could do at home.  Not cheap, but neither is the decal paper I'd waste trying to get it done at home.

Only once I ordered custom decals from this vendor.  It took 2 weeks to arrive from the day Josh said he would send them out.  This is about normal considering I live in Canada, and not that close to the border either.

I designed all my own art work in vector format, but am sure he had to fiddle with a few things to make things right as I was just learning back then.

The only other one I tried was  Greg Drawbaugh from DRAW Decal.  More expensive because he charges a full decal sheet whether that is the size you require or not.  Also, he doesn't provide the artwork, you would have to do that yourself.

regards,

Jack

Has anyone dealt with Bedlam Creations?

Frustrated I am! On September 20, I contacted Josh Muma of Bedlam Creations to order a custom white decal for the helipad on my model of the hospital ship U.S.S. Repose. I still don't have the decal.

There was a brief hiccup — the draft that he finally sent, after I reminded him that I hadn't received it, needed to have slightly altered measurements (it was a handful of millimetres too large, my error, not his). He said he would make the necessary change and send a new draft. I waited several days, and finally wrote asking him what the delay was. He admitted that he had forgotten about it (he’d been working out of town), and would send it “right away”. He didn’t. I finally called him. He apologized, and said he thought he had sent the new draft. He did send it then, and it was fine. I sent him an OK by email, and he said he’d get right on it. That was November 23. Still nothing.

I paid a considerable amount of money for this, and have nothing but frustration. Has anyone dealt with this company before? I'm about ready to complain to PayPal and start over with another company. Any suggestions about who to contact?
