And even easier to apply if you rub the stripes down onto clear decal first, cut them out, and use as a waterslide decals. The white stripes and arrows on the side of the drop tanks of this 'what-if' VVIP Harrier:

were done using this method.

Aslo, in Europe at least, it's fairly easy to find stripes of coloured decal. Fantasy Printshop, in particular, do them in a wide range of colours and widths for not much money. All the striping on this Dragon Rapide, except for the tail flash, came from this range:

Red and black lines are available from Decadry, the manufacturer of  rub-on dry transfers (possibly from other manufacturers of those transfers too).  Easy to apply.  Cheap.  I use them mostly on my airliners to make the 'walk' lines on the flying surfaces.

I would just design the strips with paint and then print them out...

Hi Ione,

Yup, that's always a good method, I used it just recently, but the film I had for that project was pretty old and the adhesive must have oxidized as it rally didn't want to stick anymore. I have some newer clear film, but I can't find it -- that's the penalty of moving house...

Need Colored Strip Decals -- Pronto!

Hi all,

This is my first post to the decals board. I have a project well along and have always meant to do some detailing with colored strip decals, basically cheat lines on a hull, a bit like old fashioned rally-stripes on cars. I went to my huge box of decals, confidently expecting to pull out Superscale Trimfilm sheets in the right colors, and discovered my memory was playing tricks.

I checked on the web but couldn't locate a website for Krasel Industries with a Google search -- has their site been taken down???

I need black and red strip decals or solid color sheets from which I can cut stripping. Do other companies make equivalent products? Where might I look for something along these lines?

Best wishes,

In haste,

TB379
