Yes.  I do everything I would normally do to set the decal, then cut.  Even a very slightly used blade is risky.

decals & open doors/access panels
Posted by rgamba on Monday, August 14, 2006 8:59 AM

I am just starting a 1/72 Tamiya spit (BofB) and would like to model it with some open access panels.  Can anyone advise what the best method is when the situation calls for the decal to be placed over the access panel which you intend to leave open.  Is it best to wait for the decal to dry before cutting or should this done beforehand.

Thanks in advnace for any suggestions
