Custom Decal Work.
Posted by Mist086 on Friday, December 1, 2006 2:31 PM

Ok all.  Since i am a graphic artist and a new die hard modeler, I have seen a lot of members here do alot of stuff for each other.  Now i'm gonna try something here.  If you have access to decal paper and need some decals, email, pm, or post what you'd like.  All i basically need is what scale, what you want as final decal, and maybe if you can some measurements and/or a low-res scan of the decals outta our box.  I'll try and make up a decal file from Photoshop CS2 for you to print out on your printer on decal paper.  I'll email you a high-res file of your choice and it should be to the exact size you'll need.  Sounds like anything you guys are interested in?  Just trying to do something for the community

Very nice offer.  There is a custom project I'm sort of planning for next year, and it will require some nose art that I'd like based on my lovely wife.  If that's the sort of thing you had in mind, I'll be looking you up sometime early next year.  Big Smile [:D]

Mist?  You're the kind of person that makes this forum worth coming to as often as possible.

Once my son's guard unit transitions to the A-10 and they get their artwork done I may be checking in with you.

Hey, I don't currently have any decal paper, where do you get that and how much is it? sounds very cool.  I have really been wanting to find a decal to put on a side of a german tank to look hand painted on rather sloppy, and I was hoping for it to read something like "Feinst unter dem Heimatland"  Which translates to "finest of the faherland" or something of the sort.  If you were interested that would be great.  Is there any other ways to print decals, or does it have to be special paper?  because I don't really want to order a whole pack from across the country just for like 2 square inches of paper.  Yes, I know, im probably the cheapest kid born (atleast I know where I get it, hint, hint DAD!)  anyways yeah, I ould love to se eif you had any Ideas like that. My email is IanIsBored2000@yahoo.com in case you wanted to send me something.  And just like above, this is really a great thing you're doing for people! Thumbs Up [tup]

Ian, i could do almost anything if i have measurements.  I can do the artwork, but i don't have a printer anymore since my one of my twin sons thought it was cute to help daddy print by pouring paint into the printer.  I laughed so hard that i couldn't get mad at him.  I'll have a printer after the first of the year if you don't mind waiting for it.  Just let me know the specifics and i'll get on it.  I should be finished with Bud's project shortly and will get to yours.

To Mist086

Your offer is terriffic and very generous.  So, I'd like to take advantage of it, and it comes at the right time.

I'm building a 1/72 scale F-89J, a very old R-M version of this model.  The decals are very poor.  Could you create some squadron or group decals for this scale model?  I have the USAF, letters, and codes decals.  It's just the specific FIS decals that are missing.

What do you need for this?  Please let me know and I will provide it.  Thanks.

All i need is basically a 1-1 scan of the decals now, and some pics of the FIS stuff you need.  I can take it from there

Wow Mist!  I'm the guy you were looking for the Tamiya Spitfire canopy for, and now I find this offer!  Would it be possible to make a couple of decals for me?  I have the 1/48 version and the image from the instruction sheet in 1/48 (I think), but am looking for the numbers in 1/32.  I don't have any decal paper, is that something that is easy to get?  Basically, I'm looking for two pairs of of single digit numbers for my Hasegawa ME-109G-2, specifically "6" in black.  (yup, black 6).  I haven't even started the project yet, so no hurry at all.  Thanks in advance!
