Agreed. I use VERY warm water on my Tamiya decals adn they settle right in with little or no solvent.  Heat is the solution:  I use an electric "candle warmer/coffee cup warmer" plate with a thick crockery bowl for my decal water adn it works every time!

 Good luck with it

David

I noticed that MicroSol is working better than alcohol though.  But vinegar is just as good as MicroSet.  You might want to get some MicroSol for the toughest jobs.  If it's not available in your area, you might want to add a bottle of it on your next "online" purchase of a kit.  Most online shop have them stock.

Yann is 100% correct. I asked the same question and followed his suggestion. They work great, and are much more economical.

Vinegar and alcohol!!!!!

Vinegar can be used in place of MicroSet.  It helps getting the decal into place.

Alcohol can be used to replace Micro Sol.  It will soften the decal a little bit and help it conforms to bumpy surfaces.

If you heat those products a little bit, it will work better.
