Just to let folks know, a small change in technique helped out.  Got the decal in place, wicked away water and then applied Micro Sol.  Decals went down just fine.  The Micro Sol did start to dissolve Future but just leaving it to cure again worked out just fine.

oddly enough, here's an example of two "wrongs" making a right.  i'm not a big fan of future floor wax but i decided to use it this time to a) give it a try and b) put on 5 layers of a cheaper gloss coat since doing that with polyscale would pretty much use up a whole bottle if not more.  the plane had decals and i used micro set+sol as always.  result:  no problems.

why?  i put the decals on over the paint without the gloss underneath and cover the decals with gloss.  i did notice that the sol (or set, one of them) would dissolve the paint a bit but it wasn't that serious so i just let it re-dry.

on the good new side, future will go on over micro-sol'ed decals with no problems. Smile [:)]

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] IIRC, Microsol contains several alcohols which will attack Future, and some other acrylics—always a good idea to test on scrap first.

Ross Martinek A little strangeness, now and then, is a good thing… Wink

Yes, this is a fairly well known problem, and it crops up every week or two. Future is an acrylic  and using a solvent on it is not recommended.

So long folks!

Has anyone else experienced this?  I have just started using Future as an undercoat for decals and have found that if I don't pay attention and get the solution off fairly quickly, the Future bubbles and peels off.  I let the Future cure for a couple of days.
