Don't use Scotch tape, except as a last resort. Your chances of damaging the paintwork are excellent. If you don't want to re-use the decals, then Tamiya tape should do the job without damaging the paintwork. I've also had success flooding the decal with Microset, leaving it a few minutes, and then trying to lift the edge of the decal with a paint brush. Once the edge is lifted, it's easy to remove. With this method, the decal often comes away in one piece and, with care, can be re-used. Cheers, Chris.
