Glue tips question

some more tips ,, don't touch what you are glueing or get debris into the tip

keep it well away from any accelerator bottles 

moisture(not air)  activates it,, some people store the bottle in a baggie.

don't store it in a fridge than open it right away(condensation will form inside)..lol

use a high quality pure brand,, the typical hobby brands are full of filler and junk  something like Balsa usa gold will last forever without  hardening up on you unexpectedly

Start with a length of R/C control linkage sheathing.   Heat over a flame and stretch like sprue.   Stretch to the desired diameter (yes, the inner opening remains when stretched).  

The material costs are about $2.35 for a 24-inch piece which makes several dozen glue tips.  I've successfully used these tips with Hobby Lobby-brand CA.

When the tip clogs (every couple of weeks) snip off about 1/8 inch of the tippet and continue gluing.

I know it sounds REALLY dangerous but i usually warm the needle up over a flame. Since it is the absolute tip of the needle clogging theres no real danger of igniting anything.

The needle will "pop" clear and i cool the tip down with some saliva. Been doing it for years and consider having an argument with my wife infinitely more dangerous...

EDIT: shoulda read better.... I was referring to the plastic glue i use, not CA.... I use a brush bottle of that stuff... never a prob

That's why I like the new Kazy Glue container with the brush in it.  I haven't had any problems with it hardening up.

Keeping nozzles of CA glue open is one of the problems using the stuff.  If you stick a pin in it, there is nothing to prevent the pin eventually being glued into the nozzle- have had it frequently happen. If you use the cap some brands provide, then the nozzle clogs with hardened CA.

However, in the later case, the nozzle can then be opened again by piercing with a pin.  But do not put the pin back in!  Put the PE cap back on.  I always use brands that provide a polyurethane cap- I find that works better over the long run than a pin, but eventually even the capped nozzles may harden too far to use.

Be sure to cap as soon as done. I have had tubes harden completely, inside tube, long before it is empty.  So I buy only the smallest tubes/bottles of CA glue.  Large containers are no savings if stuff hardens in container.

Air is you enemy.

Anything to plug the opening will do the trick.

A needle, a toothpick, a piece if wire, a thumbtack.

Any will do the trick

Medium flow instant glue, I am not sure about the brand, something Hobby Lobby sells.

What kind of glue are you using?

Depending on the size of the muzzle you could stick a needle in it.  That's what I do with the little Testor's plastic tips I use with their tube glue.
