Regardless of the website format, posting pics has always been really easy.  Load them up on Photobucket.  Copy the img code and paste it into your post here.  Easy peasy...Big Smile

Yeah, I meant this section, tools, techniques, painting and such.  And.. I guess I woke everyone up- sorry :-)

I find picture posting slightly easier than before.  Icon looks like a picture now instead of a frame of film.  I'm old enough to have used film, but I imagine younger folk had a hard time making anything out of that old icon.

Boy, the traffic in this section of the forums has really dropped!  Nothing lately except in painting and airbrushing, and even there down to about two posts a day!  Where did everyone go!  Personally I think this is the best region of Fine Scale's forums, but I guess most folks find a forum before they ever find this one.  Too bad they don't look further down the list!

Hi, Don, I take it you're talking specifically about the Tools forum, not the forum in general, as some replies seem to have inferred.  For me, I don't often come into this section, regardless of forum upgrades, how the landing page is configured, etc, because I'm not looking for any new tools.  I wonder if many other forum members are in the same boat right now.

Things are slow for sure, but another forum I belong to that has nothing to do with modeling is very slow also. The same thing happened last year and then the cold weather hit and things picked up till it got warmer, then slowed again. I'm not too concerned about it, I think the biggest thing is the usage pattern is seasonal more than any other factor.

Just thought I would try posting a picture to see if it's more difficult than before.

This is the only modeling forum I'm on. It's slow, for sure, but I'm too lazy to go looking for another and have to go through the rigmarole of signing up again, and then being the FNG all over again. I'm holding out until everyone else leaves and I become one of the vaunted 'old guard'. Ha!

I try to click the 'Recent Posts' tab and the 'Unanswered' tab to see if I can't help out. I only get a build done once a month, maybe two months, and yeah, posting photos is a pain, so I don't get into posting my WIP's much. Try to help where I can, though.

I'm still around as well. Just havent had much to show lately as bench time has been hard to come by. Summertime is usually a pretty busy time for me with honey-do's etc. But now that Fall is here, I'm hoping to get back into regular building again. I know I have quite a few GB's that I've started projects on, and I will finish them out. It might just be right to the very end.

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

Ever since the internet became the primary, cost effective reference source - the reference materials component may no longer apply ..............maybe folks skip the thread in part due to that reason.Hmm

Wow,I really don't see that much of a difference in using the new format over the old.Besides the forum is about the people who use it rather then some small difficulties. If you like the people, and want to contribute, you won't blow it off or contribute less.

Were not punishing the forum owners by leaving and not contributing,it's the people who are still here who are getting shorted.

Tojo, i agree. But the problem is that almost 3 months later there are still issues and nothing seems to be being done about it. I still visit as much as i always have, but its hard to post when there is nothing to reply to. And the forum is definatly more awkward to use now.

It used to be that i would come home from work and tehre would be 3 pages worth to shift through. Now its not even a full page.

I must admit, it is a big time saver.....................Big Smile

Every other forum but this one............."NEXT!" I've been running two group builds this year and they were both going right along smoothly and then , "BAM" they both fell to the floor. Post contribution is down.....waaaaaaaaay down.

I was on here a bit several years ago and just started posting again real recently.  Compared to another forum that I frequent a lot, this site is quite a bit more difficult to post on.  The interface, especially for adding photos and links is a real pain in the can.  It takes about 3x longer to do the same post as on the other site.  Makes it less interesting to try and post here.

Its been like that on the whole forum, not just this section. They simply are not visiting or posting any where else let alone getting this far down the list. Ever since the change, a failure to rectify things and what seems like being abandoned, it seems to be going down hill fast. So don't take it personal Don, its not just here.

Well, my reason is, I for one have had lots of problems with my internet service and e-mail ever since Microsoft automaticly updated both my desktop and laptop to windows 10. Spend a lot of time just trying to get to this site to catch up on things. Don't know if the new OS is related to my internet service or not, but havn't ben able to fix it on my own. Spent money on a new computer about a year ago, a new wi-fi thingy about a month ago. I'm about ready to hang up the e-mail/internet altogether as I'm spending more darn time screwing with this than I am building models. Sure would miss the model forums, model research and the ability to buy model stuff on line though.
