What color to paint my model room floor.

Black, to find all of those escaped tiny parts.

My bench is in the cellar, and the concrete slab is painted with a medium grey deck paint.  That's OK if the kit's material isn't medium grey or close to it, as many styrene kits are today.  I keep a small flashlight on the bench to help spot parts that have landed on the floor.  Not only do I shine it down, vertically, to the floor, but I'll also lay the flashlight on the floor and let the beam shine along it, to find a part that has fallen to the floor.

I don't think that black would be a good color for a floor. It would show every speck of dust.

And the smallest of parts.   Not difficult to keep up with dust.

I use cheap vinyl tiles instead of paints. I have gotten them as cheap as 25 cents each- square foot each.  Must of them are an off-white, with minimal pattern.  That way, if one gets too much spilled paint on it, I can just replace it, next time I find them on sale.  They are adhesive backed and are easy to put down.  Also easy to get back up with putty knife.

 

I think that this is the perfect solution. I really like the idea of being able to easily replace stained floor tiles.

German ambush camo scheme would be cool.

I put down a white-ish vinyl tile to cover the concrete floor. I do primarily HO scale model railroading and have the same tile in the layout room. As you probably know, concrete and carpets 'eat' model parts and render them never to be found again. The white tiles give me contrast to at least spot something on the floor that might indicate a lost part. Rolling a flashlight across the floor is sometimes necessary to reveal non-contrasting parts. The white tiles also serve the purpose of increasing the relative light in the room by reflecting over-head lighting. Old eyes often need brightness to focus better. It worked for me. Good luck!

Splatter paint it.   It's going to look that way in just a while.    

And it's going to make finding that dropped part so much more difficult

Russian cockpit green!

If a dedicated modeling space, maybe a light blue, a green, or another color not generally used for sprues.  Night also put down a sheet, if you drop something, or it launches, better chance of finding it by gathering up the sheet and letting anything on it to migrate to the center.
