It is a pretty good camera from what I believe. Nikons are a good make. I had a Nikon 4300 (and 2 Nikons before that) and recently upgraded and did a lot of investigating before I spent my hard earned $$. I got a lot of details from www.dpreview.com.
The one I settled on though was a Canon PowerShot S2 IS.
What sold me was that it was about $100 cheaper, a year newer in technology, much bigger zoom and image stabilisation. It's only 5M pixels rather than 8M pixels, but 5 is plenty in my opinion. The bigger zoom will allow me to get close ups of things that I can't get physically close to - like aircraft in museums etc. Image stabilisation will help to get good quality photos at high zoom as well. There is info about the one I chose at the dpreview site as well.
Anyways, read the info and make your own decision based on what you think you will use the camera for. Hope this info helps.
