It's not like that at all.  I recently melted some plastic in Tenax to make filler from the same plastic I was working on.  It is more like that.  If there is a "grit" to it, I sure can't tell.

Is this stuff new?  If this was mentioned here before I must have missed it.  Found it at my LHS (if it was there all along I just never noticed) and decided to give it a try.  So far it is great and quickly moving to the top of the charts with a bullet.  I have used for several different filling chores and the results are terrific.  The putty itself has the appearance of melted plastic and sands super smooth and scribes well.
