i started various d-bases using ms works

like my model kit inv.   magazine inv  and magazine article inventory

my ref books  etc...

everything is current except the kits i have. i stopped after about a 1/3 of the kits  about 470-480 kits

if you have as much info, kits etc as i have you will have to put off building for 2-3 months to make and finish your d-base.

Wow what a reference base...!!

'Ol St. Nick would be proud!

If you and the other out there in the WWW,don't know this one:

World Airshow News magazine also has a forum,by and for the airshow aces in us all!!

This recent issue, has a  photo feature on NAS Oceana's last show, which reveal that VFA-11 "Red Rippers" are transfering CVWs again!!

Yeah first I tracked CVW-7 markings 'AG'in thier first training mode with VFA-106,with thier Foxtrots, then assigned to -17 'AA' and were the second ,then first unit (2XX ,1XX) in that split up,then -3'AC' in which they and sister -32 first deployed,in the above article,it shows 2 of -11s in both -3 and now to be transfered to (replace VMFA-251) CVW-1'AB' markings with 1XX modex,and VFA-211/136(and now thier own Echos, after not changing over in 2007,giving those few recieved to -31,and going back with same marking style with Charlies and another cruise!! ) and -106 in formation.

So ,if anybody bought those "Rhino" Echo markings from Superscale or "those other guys" Afterburner/Sprue Bros? in 48th, you now can use them as the third 3XX unit in CVW-1 !! Angel [angel]

Darren, over on ARC is going to follow up with me on this transistion,of one of the oldest sqns in the fleet!!

Red Rippers Rule!!

I've been modeling, off and on, for a long time. Many years ago I started a 3x5 index card file to keep track of magazine articles, kit reviews, etc. My system has evolved to include the kits I buy, the magazines and books I have and, most recently, web sites. I use different colored cards to distinguish between the categories. White cards are articles, blue are website, green are magazines, red are models, and purple are books.

My questions are:

How are other modelers tracking their collections?

And, is anyone using a computer database program? If so, what program?

Thanks, and happy modeling.
