Hey!
Sorry for not replying sooner, I didn't get a notice of your reply and I'm just now checking back in. The book gives lots of tips for how to draw using a computer illustration program. The reason is these programs are much easier to use than CAD packages and can also be used for making custom decals, artwork for custom photo-etching, and even patterns for laser-cutting and CNC machining (in 2D). Some tips for CAD are also discussed. But, this is not a book on how to draw with a computer. It's a book on how to make blueprints, and the techniques and concepts can be applied whether you are using a pencil and paper, a CAD package, or some other drawing program. In other words, it's not confined to just drawing with a particular toolset.
The best bet to understanding what is covered is to read the introduction which is now online and available for viewing at http://www.modelersnotebook.com/MDBH1-Contents1.html The Foreword by Alan Sinclair, a.k.a. "Wizard of Flight" is now also online!
I would like to thank everyone for their encouragement and enthusiasm for this project and for all the pre-orders that have been pouring in. People are very excited about this new book and the response so far has been really positive. The final proof has just been received from the printer and the book looks great! It won't be long before those who have pre-ordered will receive their advance copies.
Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the pre-order offer is being extended just a bit longer. If you missed out, you can still reserve your copy by December 4 and get upgraded Priority Shipping at no additional charge if you are in the US or a discount on International shipping charges.
