Well, its official.  Some time early next year, I'll tackle this kit for the Heavy Lifters GB.  If anyone has access to the old Italeri instructions, please let me know.  Thanks again!

Stikpusher,

I had seen those profiles, but thanks for the help anyways.  It's always nice when someone goes out of their way to help. Smile [:)] Wings palette is a great site to spend hours on! Whistling [:-^]What I am really looking for is mentioned here about two thirds of the way down the page.  Looking back, I see that it was probably first at the eastern front with the splotchy camouflage, then repainted with the splinter camouflage once it was relocated to Tunisia.

Oh, and I got brave (foolhardy) and ordered the Attack Hobby flakpanzer 38(t) off squadron...This should be interesting, seeing as how I've never even built an armor kit...wish me luck...

Here's some color profiles off of Wings pallette site. No splotchy camo jobs though

Italeri Me 323 camouflage scheme...
Posted by cardshark_14 on Monday, August 27, 2007 5:32 PM

Howdy y'all,

I am just now getting back into modeling after finishing engineering school, so I'm takin' it easy ;) First up I have a Tamiya 1/48 Zero, then an AMT/ERTL A-20B.  Looming in the near future however is the reissue of the 1/72 Me 323 Gigant by Italeri.  I was reading a kit review of the beastie and came across a reference to the older Italeri instructions.  Apparently the older version is for the same aircraft but in an earlier (non-Eastern Front) scheme that is *slightly* more interesting than the standard splinter job.  Anyways, its from Tunisia, ca. 1943, does anyone know of any references (profiles, pictures, etc.) that show the splotchy camouflage on the monster?  Or better yet, does anyone still have those old Italeri instructions?  Thanks, and happy modeling.

oh, and I'm thinking about having a flakpanzer 38(t) driving out the nose doors, as it seems to be about the right weight...

;)
