As I've mentioned in a couple threads, I've been out of the hobby for a couple decades and have questions and recommendations on supplies and paints.
Surprisingly it appears that most of my Tamiya, Testors, and Model Masters paints have survived being in the attic (hot/cold due to living in CT) from when we moved into this house seventeen years ago. I don't trust the glues though. I thought they were in a closet with my kits... So first question. Would you use the paints or just replace them? I believe some of the bottles are new or have very little use.
My next question is about glue. I was able to get a bottle of Tamiya extra-thin cement from one of my local shops that offers curbside pick up. It's my first time using Tamiya cement and I'm surprised at how thin the application brush is. Do all of Tamiya's cement use such a small brush?
I also need new putty since it didn't survive the attic. I had Squadron white putty, but I'm open to trying something new.
I'm looking for multiple options on the glue and putty, because I'd like to support my local shops that offer curbside pickup. But I don't know what they carry, since I can't go inside. I can only call and tell them what I'm looking for. If neither shop has what I want, I'll certainly order online.
Also, any recommendations on fairly accurate paint colors (interior and exterior) for building a Tamiya F4U-1D (kit # 61061)? I just plan on building it out of the box and want to see how I do with airbrushing and painting in general.
