FineScale.com T-shirts?

I feel that what I said above probably needs further clarification. What I mean is have an airplane shirt available in each colour, a tank shirt in each colour, etc etc, This would appeal to a larger group and would give a larger range to choose from. you know buy one of each colour, buy one for each of the forums you participate in. Me personally I would buy one for the A/C forum and the Helicopter forum and maybe even the Armour forum. I would maybe even buy an A/C one if it had a Mustang on it. Sorry guys, I'm just tired of seeing Mustangs everytime I turn around.

As a screenprinter, I like talk like this. But think of it from their side of the coin.....

9 forum catagories.
7 sizes (s-4X)
figure a minimum print run for each size to accomodate the number of requests 24, probobly more for sizes like large and x-large
base price of a shirt other than white is about $3.65
base price for a sport shirt (polo or golf shirt) $$6.00
dependent on the number of colors in the print maybe up to another $3
storage costs and facility space
shipping
cost of time allocated by staff to process orders

My 2 cents and suggestions.
a) 1 shirt design on 1 color
b) Cafe press and go with the crappy digital or sublimation print. Cheaper but you get the advantage of their infrastructure and they can probobly ship international for less than Kalmbach could.

some great suggestions. but it is a little off the topic. what i proposed was a shirt with the fsm logo and member names. i hoped that this would be offered to members to promote membership and promote the hobby. i hope that fsm will agree.

I would buy one polo, and one T-shirt, (preferably with pocket), and if therew as a silhouette on the shirt fromthe Forums, I'd buy one polo and one T-shirt each from the Aircraft, Armor, Ships, and Helicopter Forums.

That's alot of shirts to sell!

So, when are we gonna see some prospects?

Oh, and another thing, I wouldn't mind paying the extra for a quality image that would stay around for a long time! I don't want an image that would fade or flake off after some washing; FSM is a quality publication, it should be represented by a quality image on a good shirt.

Personally, I don't want any "image"!

I've stated above that I'd quickly buy a quality polo. As for the logos, I was assuming (probably wrongly) that we were talking about embroidered logos. If the logo is nothing more than an "iron-on" transfer (or similar image), then I would be moving to the "won't purchase" side of the fence.

Count me in for a polo or a "T".

i don't know much about shirts, but i'd sure be interested if you offered stuff like mugs or mousepads, or even keychains.

A lot of diverse ideas here. Now for my .
I would be interested in both Ts (prefer pocket) and Polos, printed would be just fine for the T but not the Polo, that should be embroidered. I like the idea of the shillouette/URL on the back of the T. Quality shirts are a must.
For sizes PLEASE remember we aren't all 4X wearers, I'm 5'6" and 140lbs with a 38" chest so a small would be in order. There have been many times I have passed on a shirt from an event because they don't have my size and I simply refuse to wear baggy clothes.
When it come to spending my hard earned $$ I will spend on a quality item and pass on the cheap stuff

voted yes, what would you put on the front though?. just the fsm logo?. if theirs going to be a pic something to suit the aircraft, tank, car spaceship, ship, figure, ect guys would be kinda hard to do. what about having a pic on the front and changing it every year, that way everyone gets a look in with their fave subject and there will probably be guys (like me) who will want to collect them all. just my 2.p.w.also getting them with our names on will be worth the extra cost i.m.h.o. and also there could be just a plain logo t and/or polo-shirt for folks who would prefer it.
plus. PLEASE no c***py ruberised pics, i bought four t,shirts with ww2 nose are on at £18 each. now they have all cracked and aint worth wearing cept the Memphis Belle one

What a great idea Lawrence , but I will have to agree with Antagonist and leemitcheltree they do need to be of a good quality a T-shirt or a Polo shirt
and in a decent price range . Or why don't you do a patch that you can stitch on to a t-shirt..or something like that..

Okay, I'm just checking this out for the first time, and I'm only reading the third page. So, this said, I have a comment, and a question.

Comment: I think FSM T-shirts or polos are a pretty good idea. I agree that they need to be good quality if they become reality. Something I might suggest: I have no idea on logos or whatnot, but I'm thinking you could be a little more liberal in your logo choice for the tees, i.e. small logo on front, large design on the back, while the polos should be a little more.... how you say, "dignified"? What I mean is that the polos could be one color, with a small logo on one side or the other, with little to nothing on the back. Just an idea.

This being said, here's the question...

Where does this issue stand as of right now? What's been the most recent discussion? What news from the manufacturing side? (Person supplying them?) Are shirts even a possibility at this point, or still just discussion? And foremost, what price range are we talking about? Basically what I'm asking for is a synopsis of the first two pages!
