Hi there folks,
I have been looking in on this forum a few times over the past year, but have only really taken a good look last week. Not entirely by coincidence, I have recently started to complete a few not-yet-finished models, and could use some advice. I was amazed at the amount of specialised information the members here have!
Although I'm way below the average skill level here (I think), I will try to help folks where I can. As far as learning from mistakes goes, I have probably accumulated quite a bit of experience
Okay, a quick word about me. I was born in Holland in the last century (okay 1970), am a guy and am living together with a quite understanding girlfriend. She actually lets me keep a small show-case in the living-room
. I started modeling when I was about 6 or 7 years old, when my uncle in England bought me an Airfix Stirling kit: a bit complicated at that age, but it was coooool, and I was hooked! It's been mainly WW2 aircraft and tanks ever since, with a short -I'm into girls now, can't build models- break. When I moved out of the house, i immediately bought an aircraft kit and started reading magazines to get better. These days I build anything to 1/48 scale, but will also do 1/32 and 1/72. I also build a lot of armor, mainly WW2, with a bias towards german self-propelled guns. I also like to do something completely different sometimes, like a u-boat or a vinyl Marvel figure or the Millennium Falcon. It's all good
Once I learn how to post pictures here, I might be able to show some of my (below average, but still had fun!) models. I would love to hear a how-to on that one
Anyway, that's me in a nutshell, hope to talk to lots of you in the future.
Cheers,
Filibert
