Clear coat after oil wash.

Let me first introduce myself I'm called Old Jake for a reason. I was only a few years away from joining up for WW2. I really wanted to fly. I did eventually get a private pilot license, and have been hooked on airplanes ever since. Of course at this age there are only memories.

Enough about me...

Awhile back I saw a 1:48 model of a Spitfire and decided to put modellong on my bucket list. I had no idea what a captivating hobby I was getting into.

There is a lot to know and not much time left to learn, so the best way is to reach out to experts like you.

I am almost finished my first model, an Airfix Hawker Hurricane, and have done an oil wash over Vallejo acrylics for a weathering effect. Not great, but we'll get there.

When I tried my hand at painting years ago, we used oil over acrylic but never used waterborne materials over oil.

With such a bewildering array of paints and finishes out there, wouldsomeone please recommend a clear coat that would be compatible withmy wash.
