Hello All,

I wasn't sure if this was the right place to post this announcement that isn't "Nationals" related  - but I couldn't find a better place.

   (Halfway between Buffalo and Rochester)

on Friday and Saturday May 19 and 20, 2017.

Check the Website for details:  Noreastcon.com

Hope lots of you can make it !

That's only about an hour away from me.  Maybe I can make it down on Saturday.

I wished I had a show that close. I'd be there every year.

Keyda and Rooster - make sure you come with some of your works of art . . .  I've seen what both of you can do.  It'll be a treat to see them in person - and to meet you.

Blacksheep - What's two hours ?  That's only like  . . . .  120 minutes !    And you'll get to see Rooster and Keyda's builds . . . and bring your own !

Mustang - Corpus is a long hike . . .   but to steal a phrase from Lyle Lovett:  "Yeah - you're not from New York, but New York loves you anyways !"  . . .  Ok - So it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue - but hopefully you get my meaning.  We'd love to see ya here.

Actually, I take that back. It's more close to a 3 hours drive from Utica.

I'm rather leery of bringing any builds with me.  I can't even pick them up to dust them without breaking something off, or worse dropping them.Surprise  I'm always nervous when I have to handle them, and I try so hard not to drop, or knock them into anything and land up doing exactly that!

Bossman: I hear you and appreciate the sentiment. I went to a show in San Antonio last February, had alot of fun and ended up doing well in the model contest. It was a short lasted victory though. My wife stayed home that weekend with the dog because she doesn't really get into the shows as much as I do ( To her credit she did go with me to the Austin Capitol Classic model show in 2015). She just can't stand the long drawn out awards presentation. Anyways the next day she had a brain aneurysm but survived it and is about 80-85% recovered from it. In short and in all honesty...........I get really nervous leaving her behind to attend a model show or anything else for that matter nowadays. I do want to make the Austin Show this year and take her and my son with me though.

Keyda: I know exactly what you mean. I took my Fw190 D-9 that I've got all opened up to the show in Austin mentioned above and the wing debonded from a glue joint at the fuselage. Surprise . I about had a heart attack because that model is my best aircraft build ever . I did manage to take home a 3rd Place out of it even with that shortcoming though. lol . I also had a judge try to pick that same build up to look at it and I quickly stopped them. No way in Hell am I going to have anybody handle that build but me. As you said , I'm a nervous wreck myself when handling that one and I'll be danged if anybody else is going to pick it up.

Chris, I've looked at the website for Noreastcon and I see there will be quite a few businesses in the vendor area. Do you know if there will also be people there selling kits like there is at most other shows? My "stash" is getting a little low and I need to replenishWink

Andy,

Definitely Yes.

The vendor tables sold out early - it will be a full house of businesses and individuals selling every little modeling related thing !

See ya there.

Me and the hubby will be there on Saturday.

Cool !    I'm running into some logistical difficulties with a car that's unexpectedly in the shop right now - and a family that has alot of different places to be - all at the same time.  I'm planning on being there on Saturday as well, but at this point I'm not 100% sure if I'll be able to make it on Friday.

If you guys see me - say Hi.  I'm the grey-haired guy with glasses.
. . .    kinda like trying to find a specific piece of hay in a haystack.

Mustang - sorry to hear about your wife - and I understand how that would make you want to keep close.   And I do understand what you were saying about bringing kits to a show.  Transport and handling are the two biggest consumers of fiddley parts.
