OK my attendance is confirmed!!  Vacation is approved and I'll be driving to LA on Thursday, 8/23 going straight to the Anaheim Marriott!!  My plan is to attend Thurs and Friday, and possibly Saturday as well.  Driving back to the Bay Area on Sunday!  YIPPEE!!  I'm excited; my buddy owes me $350 and he promises to pay me back that Friday...all to be used at the Nationals!!

Espins, I don't think I'll be at the registration tables as of yet. I've been heavily involved in presentations, so I most likely won't be at the tables. Still, I do plan on trying to coordinate the largest LEMur gathering pic in history!

Oh, for anyone else following this Thread, my father is going to be one of the presenters giving two presentatrions on the 1st SOW in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, and historical and technical info on the AC-130 gunship. I'm so thrilled to have him here!

Ernest, you'll miss a few presentations and all the early people putting out their models. I for one am bringing 132 models for the contest. I don't expect to win anything, but I'll at least possibly set a record!

Scott, I'l be watching for you!

Well shoot.... my daughter came down with a really bad flu bug on Sunday night and is still down and out.  She's been staying at her mom's so the rest of us don't get it, but we were planning on leaving for the Nats tomorrow morning!  As it stands right now she's in no condition for the trip.

We're evaluating our options at this point. 

1. If she somehow manages to recover between now and tomorrow morning, we'll be there Wed night.
2. If she's still under the weather tomorrow we'll push back the trip by one day and get there Thursday night.
3. If she's still sick we may have to either cancel it altogether, or maybe I'll just go down for Friday and Saturday, or we'll just go any with my wife, me and Max.

 Poor kid.  She hasn't been able to eat anything and keep it down since Sunday.

132??   Duke, I can't even imagine building that many in my lifetime, let alone bringing them to a contest!!  I'm looking forward to seeing them!  Good thing I'll be there 3 days!!

Scott, so sorry to hear about your daughter.  The same thing has happened to me with family members and its always a tough situation!  The most important thing is for her to recover from this bug and be healthy and happy again!   I wish her a speedy recovery and hope everything works out for you and your family! 

What a shame. I know the plan was to stick you with the bar tab, now they'll have to go to plan B which is to stick somebody from FSM with it!

I had to miss out, too. We can commiserate over virtual beers later on.

Well, it's official, I have my flight booked!  I'm on the 7:00am flight out of Reno Saturday morning, arriving in LAX at 8:25AM.  My return flight doesn't leave LAX until 7:50PM so I'll have all day at the contest.  I can't wait!!! 

I'll probably be wearing khaki shorts and a black Bf109 or Tiger shirt with my khaki Das Reich baseball cap, so keep an eye out for me.    I'm so stoked!

I'll be traveling light so I can load up for the trip back!  heh heh  I'll have to bring some bags or something in my backpack in case I pick up any kits. 

I should be hooking up with Drew tomorrow afternoon sometime after he gets back from the Air Museum tour, and I hope to run into a bunch of the rest of the gang at some point.  For those of you at the show, keep an eye out for a shady character that looks something like this.
