Anybody Playing "World of Tanks" ?
Posted by troublemaker66 on Monday, October 22, 2012 5:30 PM

....I`ve been playing for a few months now and mostly have a blast, but...sometimes I wanna throw my laptop out a window.....Bang Head Angry Big Smile

The whole thing amazes me...how you can have 30 people , battling it out, with all the different tanks and people all over the world playing. On-line gaming has come a long way.

At 8pm every night, i`ve been getting x3. I`m using the same handle too. I was hoping that if there`s enough people playing from this forum, maybe starting an FSM clan. Getting tired of playing with strangers and losing...think I`m around 48% overall. And...haven`t spent a dime yet, although I may ask Santa for a premium account...Wink

Sorry, haven't tried that game.  Being more of a sci-fi fan, I've ended up spending my gaming time on Star Trek Online more than even WoW.

Haven't tried it... Not a fan of on-line games anymore, although I still love to fly campaigns in Red Baron 3D and Combat Flight Simulator II, and I'll occasionally pull out Panzer Elite...   Generally speaking, on-line gaming has taken it's toll on me, simply because there's no way to reach through the screen and just choke the living **** outta some of the kiddies who desperately deserve it...

I have to admit I'm a player of a couple of online games, WOW and World of Tanks. Got a Tiger and JagdPanther II. Problem I have on the Europe servers is the Eastern bloc guys not talking in English! and I'm sure some must have some hacks for their accuracy. I'm about 48% win rate too but I like the fact I can log on for 30 minutes and just blow some stuff up!

I hear ya Hans. I still play CFSII. The initial download for W.o.T.`s had to be done overnight...something like 4Gb`s of goodies, which makes me glad I got a new laptop. I also know what you mean about choking little bas****`s...especially the "Arty"drivers, who hide off to the side somewhere and lob shells at ya...Super Angry Whenever I`m driving my Pz III/IV, I`m an Arty hunter. I love the comments from those little weasles when I sneak up behind them and blow their a$$e$ away...lol.

We have a lot of Spanish speakers on the N.A. server, so I know what you mean. I`m sure there`s cheating going on but, I`m finding, as my crew`s training increases, the better the tanks accuracy gets, along with loading speed and actual vehicle speed. I have 5 tanks, two of which have 100% crews plus about 50% through their 1st set of perks...which also make everything better and faster. I have a VK3601H...almost sold it right after buying it...could not survive a battle in it...but with all the upgrades and crew improvement, I`ve not only been surviving alot more but have actually turn the tide on a few battles. My best game so far was in my Pz III/IV...8 kills, I was the only one left against 2 arty`s , a KV @ 25% and to med`s , 1@ 100% and the other 60%. When the battle ended..I had 5% HP left..lol...and none of my teammates hung around to see it, prolly thought I was a goner..lol.

The other thing is...the premium account. How can you compete against someone buying everything? They say the game is free, and is for the most part...you can play all you want and not spend a dime..but when an M6 heavy gets "one-shot-ed"...someone bought their shells. I know by having everyone competeing together, it`s a way to get more people frustrated and get them to start spending money, and let`s face it, making moneyoff the game is the real goal for the owners...IMO.

I would like to play it but the ***holes should make it mac friendly...
at least these thing don't break down every couple of months...

I read that they are making a world of planes version to...
Not mac friendly either...

Whatever, I still have my consoles, at least I don't have any issues there...
With regards, Ninetalis.

Sorry guys...didn`t know about the MAC thing. And, yes, there is a World of Planes on the way...I can only imagine how frustrating that`s gonna be...lol.  I played for a bit this afternoon, basically was mis-matched the entire time, playing against tanks 2-3 tiers higher than mine, and as you could guess, got my butt kicked 95% of the time. I swear I`m gonna quit every "bad" session but, I can`t...it`s like nerd crack...lol.

Len, as far as buying stuff for the game, just but more models.  Some of them have coupons for the game in them!  Seems like a win-win to me!  I haven't been playing this game.  The game that has sucked the time from me is DayZ.  It's a zombie survival game.  Definitely fun!

Played for awhile and got up to an M-10 but ended getting burnt out on the game. Same maps and players on your side who want to rush the enemy base leaving your team with half strength before the game even begins in earnest. May have to pick it up and start again, been too busy playing Skyrim through for the second time here lately.

I know what you meant, Thaught that you might be for real...
It wouldn't surpise me that there are guys on here not knowing what we mean with mac.
Also, they don't take a lot of space since the hardware and screen are stowed into one thing.

I'm not really an apple guy but I do love Imac's + I need one for school/my work...
I can put windows on here to and you can't put OSX on a windows, so that's kinda handy.

Gamera, the blackberry is kinda chewy, but eating is about all they are good for. Lol

FYI: you can get the happy meal with apple slices. So, you can have both if you like, and you get a toy!!

I like blueberries, blackberries make me gassy....Whistling

LOL guys!

Ninetalis: funny I was a Commodore guy long before I was a PC guy. If Commodore hadn't committed suicide through sheer stupidity I'd probably be typing this on an Amiga (sigh).

Yeah, that's where the name came from. The original name was Hi-Toro which kept being confused with the lawnmower!!!

Back in 1977 Commodore introduced the first home computer (well the first one that didn't come as a box of parts you had to build yourself) and they called it the Commodore PET - I kid you not after the pet rock fad. It was supposed to sound 'friendly'. Same with the Vic-20 - it was supposed to be a friendly name. Go figure.....

Back to WoT, I have been playing so much that it is seriously cutting into my bench time. I am up to a tier 6 Panzer IV. I like the idea of playing on a clan with anyone elso. How do we look eachother up on this game?

My apologies, I didn't mean to veer so far off subject. Watchman gave me a lot of help showing me the ropes when I first started. I'd love to fight with you guys. My handle is Gamera977 and have pretty much maxed out a M3 and M5 Stuart light and a M10 and T40 TD.

I have a tier 3 M2MT  elite, a tier 6 Sherman M4A3E2, also elite, a Tier6 M6, crew around 96% trained, A Pz III/IV tier 5, crew close to 100% and a VK3601H tier 6, crew around 90%. I`m losing alot lately, which gets me frustrated. I had an awesome battle with my Pz III/IV, my whole team was wiped out, 5 enemy...2 arty`s, a KV-1 that was around 50% and a few others. I was defending my base and fought `em all off and won. Had a total of 8 kills that game. Beat my old best with the M2, which was 7. I keep getting put into battles where I am the lowest tier vehicle. I don`t like camping so I get into the mix and die...pizzes me off sometimes, especially getting one-shot-ed by an invisi-tank or some punk-azz arty driver.....Super Angry

And yes, it keeps me away from the bench more too....which I will be sitting down at after I finish this post...Yes

As a former "real-world" Red Leg, I can attest that an HE Quick155mm WILL take out any WW2 tank.. The issue isn't destroying a tank with direct-fire.. It's hitting it with the first round.. It usually takes three on a moving target...  But when it's "steel-on-steel", the clanker's a goner.. Gimme an M40 or even an M12...
