Would you believe  that on the Oct. 23 drawing of the Florida Lotto worth 20 million, I had one number and was off by one digit on the remaining five numbers!

How does the saying go If it wasn't for bad luck I would not have any.

Now what I would do is ,by some considered , nuts .I would use the cash to set up on their land ( the V.A. ) a HOBBY SHOP for veterans who have long term hospitalization issues .With a nice large , dis-abled accessable build room and canteen .Yes , seperate from what they do have .Why , to get in an environment wher B.S.ing is allowed as they build and paint their models ( Which is not allowed in many facility craft rooms ) and the canteen where a dietition expert has their meal profile so they can have safe snacks and drinks while they build . This would be at every V.A.facility in the country if I could make it so .. Then a chain of discount Hobby stores that the part of the population that lives on fixed incomes ( Social Security , Etc , ) could get HEAVY discounts for their models and supplies and thus re-gain that part of their independence at least . Then I would buy me a New loaded ! KIA -SEDONA to replace my loaded 2003 one !

If I won $550 million jackpot, I'd find a real Spitfire or De Havidlland Mosquito and restore it. LOL! ANy spare cash leftover, a classic car of my dreams - 1966 Chevy Impala SS, new house, vacation to England and Italy, maybe China and African Safari. Oh yeah let's not forget Disney!! LOL!

House improvements: new kitchen, new roof, new windows, insulation, new driveway and garage floor.

An addition for a man cave/model building room for me including a 70 inch HDTV w/ surround sound. LOL!

Trust fund for my son's college education as well as a small trust fund for my nieces and nephews for their college education.Any long lost friends/relatives that come out of the woodwork, I'd tell them to get lost!

Did I mention more model kits, paints and supplies? Now you know. LOLOLOLOL!!!

Ah well, all ya need is a dollar and a dream....

I think putting that much money to work helping other like our wounded vets would make winning it worthwhile.

As for my personal toy, a restored P51D Mustang.

The FIRST thing you do is change your phone number. Next is to have your lawyer tell the lottery to NOT reveal your name. Then, you can do whatever you want to.

I've got enough kits for the next 150 years but I could use a few new tools and a '34 Ford Sedan Street Rod. After the bills are paid, then it's CHILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL time. No more worries till they put me 6 feet under.

The dream just got wilder 586 million and its not even Tues night.

That much money will bring change, if not you then the people around you for sure.

$586,000,000 is an insane amount of money.  Could make a lot of people happy.  I dont know if multiple winners/syndicates win the lottery more often in the USA than individuals.  In Australia, individual winners are becoming more scarce.  The company doesnt even advertise the prospect of a single winner any more, just the "chance to share" in the winning prize.  Biggest over here was about $100,000,000 I think, and things got a little crazy, with TV stories, etc.  Got my ticket in the $70,000,000  tonight, so a few more hours dreaming yet......

My moms' friend know a woman who's husband was running around on her.  When he was caught, he said he wanted a divorce.  A few month after the divorce was final, she hit the lottery for around $10 million.  Karma is a b-----.   (No my mom didn't get anything. lol).

Just heard on the news that after taxes they split 300 million. That comes to only 150 million each. What a bummer.

I never play the lottery. Ir's a scam. Just a way to rob desperate people and make them feel like they have hope of getting out of their unhappiness with money---the surest way to misery.

Well, I for one am glad not all see it that way Doog. Last May, a guy in Calgary won $40 million and gave every penny of it (all $40 mil, as lottery winnings are not taxed here) to cancer research. That awful disease had taken his wife's life two years earlier.

 A very generous person , thinking of others before himself , and giving to A very good cause.

 Lost  my mother in-law to cancer two years ago hard way to go.

First thing I'd do is get a new phone number, then pack up the family and move! I really dont want much, a 6 bedroom house or at least one that more than one bathroom and 20 acres (at least). A new truck for me, suv for the wife, a couple of 4wheelers to play on the land and a few new to me rifles. And I'd love to go help out with some of the current 1:1 warbird restorations. Plus a vacation to europe, so many historic sites I wanna see, normandy, bastogne etc. Above all, invest or something to have that money make more money. And some charity work, St Jude, things like that.

Actually Doog, my point was simply to say that if this one guy had been so dead set against the lottery system so as not to even bother playing it, then there's $40 mil that goes into something quite likely frivolous instead of where it can do a world of good. I'm well aware of the allure and the pitfalls of instant megabucks.

I see your point, Mike, but you have to admit that what happened here is an unlikely, extraordinary quirk of fate, not likely to be repeated any time soon. For this ONE guy who was a winner, you have literally millions of mostly-hopeful, some-desperate people who waste a few dollars every day against tremendous odds for the promise of something for which you literally have a better chance of being hit by lightning. I just feel that they're profiting off of people's false hopes. It doesn't feel honest to me. And most people are going to keep that money mostly to themselves. Oh of course everyone will give a little here or there to some charity or other just to assuage their own conscience, but realistically this guy's magnanimous gesture is as rare as a comet strike on the Earth.

It doesn't matter there's always some thing that's not good for you gambling, drinking, eating, working.

It all comes down to responsibility and self control. If you don't have it to begin with well??.

Me I may have posted a Sheman and a Stuart 1;1 scale reality no, I just want to take care of my 50 X 150 ft  that is paid for. Fix it up  so I'm warmer in the winter and a few other little things.

The only real thing that keeps me playing the lottery ( I only spend 6 maybe 15 bucks a week ) is maybe I can retire a little early. I'm 61 been with the same company 40 year's , I'm tired.
