Ugliest Car

Aww; Murph !

 C'mon now . I owned two , Yes , two , Matador four door sedans ( not the sporty one ) Very serviceable family cars . Turned my first Pacer into a Pa-Camino after someone in a raised four wheel drive hit me in the rear quarter window !

 Plus , how many cars do you remember that turned into a serviceable bedroom if it was discovered the tent leaked ? The Rambler Ambassador wagon of course ! 

 I had one of the smaller four wheel drive wagons ( Forget it's name . ) But it sure was fun on the Arkansas River Bottoms  ( near the bank ).

 That might seem ugly . But , it looks serviceable for someone who would like it . Like me!

 I bet it could hold a lot of LEGOS !

I agree with a couple of you about the Nissan Cube and Juke. Add to the list the Honda Element and Sicon xB. I understand they are designed to be "functional", but, that is a nice way to say they are ugly. Kind of like when you say a girl or guy has a great personality... 

I just realized my wife describes me as having a great personality...

I had a 76 Malibu, same body style, just with the stacked headlights. Mine was silver, and it had the same color vinyl top as the one pictured. If it had a 350 instead of that anemic 305, I'd have kept it. Always thought they were pretty cars.

 

   Couldn't agree more BS214, tuner cars are really annoying, coffee can exhaust tips just look ......yuck.

     One thing that kinda irritates me are low riders, trucks and cars. Someone takes a really cool classic like the 64 or 65 Impala, drop it to the deck, pound the suspension with hydraulics, and throw a halfamillion dollar noise box in the trunk then top it off with a god awful candy mettalic swirly paint job. Aces for creativity but it ain't my style.

Try Googling "Dumbest-looking cars"......... wow......

I have to admit that AMC put out some odd looking cars, but I think they also had some nice looking ones, and a couple that might best be described as "goofy-cute".

On the other hand that Citroen Ami that GMorrison posted a picture of is probably the dorkiest looking thing that I have ever seen

Almost anything by AMC.  IMHO, the only thing that was remotely passable was the AMX.  The Gremlin, Hornet, Pacer, Rambler, Ambassador...

 

The AMXs cousin the Javelin was super cool too.

Only one type of cars are ugly, noisy, and downright annoying.... and they’re those damn ricers or tuners or whatever you want to call it. Why in God‘s name would anybody ruin a perfectly good import by dropping the stance til they're an inch off the ground, slant their tires/wheels, put ridiculous spoilers on the back, loud mufflers that sound like a weed whacker on crack.

My take: watching two in a race is like watching which lawnmower is the fastest. Heck, my lawnmower and rider mower sound better than those ridiculous ricers/tuners.

Ask any hot rod or muscle car owner, they hate’em.

So am I! I was the pround owner of a 76 Pinto Wagon with the V-6 engine. I drove her until she died. Loved driving that car especially in the winter. I would pass 4x4 trucks and jeeps left and right. I wanted to drop a 289 into her but didn't have the time or money but I did have the engine. 

My vote for ugliest goes to the AMC Pacer! Just don't tell my Wife or my Dad.

 

I never heard of this one but it does look like a hot wheels car.

What about the Caddy that had its trunk angled down about 60 degrees, making it a short trunk?

Then there was the Messerschmitt KR-200, the BMW Isetta, and the Mercedes SUV that looks like a box on wheels.

To be honest, if I had to pick a car that I didn't think was very good looking, I'd probably go for certain modern really expensive sports cars.  While I definitely think that there are many very attractive expensive cars, for others I am left wondering if the designers just decided to make their cars look as outlandish as possible just because they could.  Specifically, I really don't care much at all for the Bugatti Veyron and Chiron models (shown below).

In addition, the SSC Tuatara (below) almost looks to me as if someone took a 1970 Hotwheels toy car and just scaled it up, while the Lamborghini (in the 2nd picture below) looks to me like something copied from the old Speed Racer cartoon.

Yea.... but stick a 426 hemi with a Blower in it and it get's very cool indeed.

  My high school best friend had a Yugo, spunky is the word I might have used....only to be nice. Both of us easily had a combined weight of over 500lbs, poor little Yugo never did drive right after a night of cruising for chicks on Sherman Ave.

The very first mini-vans ( Dodge ? )  were gawd-awful ugly !

But I think, for me, The "ugliest" car was the Renault  Le - car.
