What part of Michigan?  Copper Country?  Marquette or Munising?  I went to school in the Copper Country.  When I went back up there for grad study we got about 300 inches one year.

Livingston County, just north of Ann Arbor. Far enough from the lake, that we just get the "tailings" of the lake effect snow. We had a couple seasons with great snow, several years back...but only once, in 15 years here, have we actually had 2' on the ground. Seems to be snow...melt...snow...melt...etc., most years. Lame. We're at 45F right now...this just aint right! Calling for a high of 24F tomorrow...that's more like it!

Even way up here, in Michigan...you have more snow than we've had this season.

Heck, we're sittin at 50F right now...and rain.Tongue Tied It's January, for cryin out loud...this aint right!

It has snowed quite a few times, and I have spent 8-9 nights at the airport, cleaning the runway and taxiways...but it's only been "dustings" (less than 1 inch).

The rotating broom on the front, is 16' long/wide...8 passes on the runway. Taxiways take 4 passes, plus the connectors and ramps...an evening of clearing snow consists of about 20 miles of travel...at a max of 5 mph. It's been a few years since I've had to rev up the blower on back (4'X 8').

I dunno, had a few winters in a row with 70-80” total snow fall, doesn’t usually melt til spring. This past October we had 18“ in in less than 24 hours. It did melt off eventually.

Have a snow blower that does a good job of removing snow, but I have to walk behind it to control it.  Problem is I have a steep drive, and clearing the drive requires walking up that drive about four or five times.

In my "youth", I had a landscaping job. One of my customer's had a steep slope that I had to mow. I couldnt do it side-to-side , the mower would tip over. And walking up it was BRUTAL !!!

So I "Borrowed the customer's pick-up ( it had a winch, with a remote control ) and tied the mower to the pick-up. It was slow, but it got the job done !

in December I had a hospital stay diagnosed as heart failure.  Recovering nicely.

Glad your doing better. Dont scare us like that. How are we supposed to learn anything, if your not here?

Don, I have a similar driveway- 65 feet long and steep. Also got a pavement of 210 feet as  I'm on a corner.  My snow blower quit a few years ago but I'm not worried. We hit 60°F here in Philly on New Years.

Take care of that Ticker. Sounds like walking the driveway could be good therapy, but without the snowblower please.

You could have moved to St Joe County Indiana, where we tie with Buffalo NY for the most lake effect snow.

I live in Colorado at about 5000 feet elevation.  Bought a new snowblower a year ago last  September and have only had to use it once in all that time.  This is weird.

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

I was in Spokane for the winter of '69! 4 inches and 30 degrees is nothing. We had 2 feet of snow and a week of 30 degrees BELOW freezing. But is was a dry cold! LOL.

I hope the El Nino holds for awhile.

El Nino usually last the whole winter season and occurs every 4 year cycles. Watch out for La Nina is what you need to watch out for - that happens every 4 year cycles as well.

actually it’s more of a 4 to 7 year cycle. El Niño for us here in California is the wet winter/spring (our rainy season) and warmer waters, La Niña is dry winter/spring and cooler waters.

If you didn't want snow, should have moved to Australia. I hear they're having consecutive 100 degree days. Oh yeah, they're brutal heat waves out there.Big Smile

Wow. Thats surprizing that you got that much snow down south. Usually that would be a larger storm up here in the great wight north. :)

Never give up, never quit, never stop modelling.Idea

Dang Timmy! If you wanted to move to a place that hardly EVER gets snow then you should've moved down here to the coastal bend in Texas. Once in every blue moon we'll get it but it's all melted the next day.

I hope the El Nino holds for awhile.  We can get big snows here in Minnesota.  But in December I had a hospital stay diagnosed as heart failure.  Recovering nicely.  Have a snow blower that does a good job of removing snow, but I have to walk behind it to control it.  Problem is I have a steep drive, and clearing the drive requires walking up that drive about four or five times.  When I got out of hospital I got winded walking up it once.  I can walk up twice now before getting winded, but it will be a few weeks before I can do it four or five times. Next two weeks are forecast to be mild.

Pfffftttt.... you’ll learn to deal with it. Relax, it’ll all melt away in no time. 4 inches is nothing....

Oh did I mentioned the snow is just about all melted in Central New York? Yup.... we got grass.

Just looked at you on a map. Coincidentally I just looked up Bisbee a few hours ago, you're just east and man, talk about right on the border. I wouldn't have expected snow down yonder either.

Stay warm.

I'm at 350 ft. elevation in the mid Willamette Valley in Oregon, and every couple of years we get 6-10 inches of the white rain........whereas we would get 5 feet of it in 2 days where I grew up in Northern Calif. at 4500 ft.

I can put up with what we get.  At least it will be gone in a couple of days.....
