Yamaha upright pianos are built in Milton Keyes, an NF Mk.II was dug up recently in Milton Keyes, the aircraft flew from Cranston, but I don't think it's a coastal town. Nissan makes a pathfinder. I know that I'm probably on the wrong track.

Best wishes,

Grant

No, only RR could make an engine good enough to grace the Mossie.

Your Nissan answer is probably getting you about 75% of the way!

& the connection to Yamaha in regards to musical instruments is correct!

Ditto It's gotten stale, please can we move it along guys? These cryptic questions are clever and a challenge, however, they take up alot of time. Even simple multi-part questions with straight-forward answers keep the thread moving.2 cents

We are past the five day limit at getting an answer. I think either more clues are in order or a new question please.

Sorry guys;

Due to the poor success of the RAF night bombing campaign, in 1942 the RAF introduced the Pathfinder Force to make use of the new Oboe radar system. It relied on two transmitters stations on the English coast, one in Dover, the other in Cromer, where operators could direct aircraft by radio to the target. The system could only direct one aircraft at a time, which is why Mossie Pathfinder aircraft were used.

Prior to the introduction of Oboe, night raid accuracy was gauged successful if they fell within 3 miles of the target - when Oboe was introduced accuracy in the order of 200 yards became the norm.

An Oboe control room;

Yamaha, as a manufacturer of musical instruments make the other type of Oboe.

Take it away!

I figured that with the Mossie Pathfinder being identified pretty early on, that Oboe would follow, as it is because of Oboe that the Mossie Pathfinders came to exist.

As to who's question it is - first come, first served.
