I think the answer to the Question is the Diamond DA42
I think youll say no to both of these, but BN-2 Islander or C-27 Spartan.

Borg R3-MC0 Milairjunkie Scorpiomikey So fixed wing, non american, and someone played silly buggers to make it fly itself. Yes, but the "silly buggers" have now teamed up with one of aviations biggest players? So it is an EADS project......?

Borg R3-MC0 A bit of a guess, how about the Schweizer S-330. It is a development of the Hughes 300 that has been made into a UAV, the MQ-8 Fire Scout.

Scorpiomikey The UAV bits got me stumped. My guess is its a regular aircraft someone set up to use remote control on.

Fan trainer is nice looking, i want one. Wonder what its like to fly.
I agree, Fantrainer is a interesting aircraft. I wonder if they are going to sell more of them...
As for your question, I am clueless at the moment. But I will do some searching.
Quite a novel & strange little aircraft - it looks like it's being marketed as the Fanjet 600;

The Question;
This aircraft is a trainer / utility / surveillance aircraft, doesn't use regular fuel, is of composite construction & even has a UAV version?
Yes! I was looking for the RFB Fantrainer. I was amazed to find out they tried to sell it in the JPATS competition. And are still trying to find customers.
Fantrainer ?
Maybe my question is a bit vague, so here is a hint. It is a European aircraft that has only one customer, in Asia.
Here is my question. I am looking for an innovative trainer aircraft designed and build in the late 1970's. The innovative design promised several advantages over conventional designs. But only a small serie of aircraft where produced for an export customer.
This aircraft is still being marketed. It is one of those designs that promises a lot but never reaches its commercial potential.
Cool aircraft.
I didnt know that one existed, theres a few other aircraft that used thrust from the propulsion to create lift over the wing. I started looking into it after i started thinking about how it would work. Its an interesting concept, unfortunately not very efficient.
Indeed, the rather ugly Hunting H.126 with a takeoff speed of 32MPH.
PhilB Borg, Do you mean the Hunting H126?
Borg,
Do you mean the Hunting H126?
Yeah, I made a typo. It is the H. 126.
I had never heard of the Ball-Bartoe Jetwing but I think I knwo the anwser to the new question. Is it the Hunting H.12....
Bede XBD-2 perhaps?
Cheers.
This aircraft was of similar concept to the Jetwing as per the previous question, but flew more than 10 years earlier - it was just as ugly, or even uglier than the Jetwing & it's claim to fame was it's exceptionally low takeoff speed.
over to you mil
Well done. may have made that too easy lol.
The Ball-Bartoe Jetwing?
24 hours and no response, ill add a clue.
One half of the aircraft's manufacturer is known for producing glass jars.
Ok, this aircraft was a unique oddity.
It was a jet aircraft.
During test flights the chase plane was a super cub.
It had a top speed of around 400mph.
The test pilot claimed it was still controllable in the air at speeds as low as 40mph.
What was the aircraft and how is the technology used today?
