Mike

I would enter that truck, it is rather good!

I was pleased to get hold of a Tamiya 1:48 F-117A with PE and Resin for $40 and a 1:32 Matchbox F.22 Spitfire for $30!

I just got an email from my Brazilian mate who sent me the FCM decals for my F-5E Tiger II saying that he had translated it to Portugese and added it to his web site :)

I feel rather chuffed!

cheers

Mike

Tweety1 if you still looking for info on Capt R A Little try this site www.theaerodrome.com
BTW you were right he did fly 1 1/2 strutters on bombing missions, the book i have only gives me what he flew to obtain his 47vic

That site reckons he flew a Camel as well.
Kinda conflicts with a French WWI site I was looking at the other day. Didn't say anything about Camels, just the Pup, Strutter and Tripe.

Where did you get the colour plate of his Tripe from?
Thats the one I'd like to build seeing as he got 20+ kills in it.
Some say 24, some say 27, either way, R. Little held equal 5th place of all the WWI aces, pretty damn good for a Victorian.

Tweety1 i have Osprey's Aircraft of the aces series 60 books, Littles Pup,Triplane and Camel are pictured in vol 60 British and empire aces of WW1.......
The Camel pictured is actually D3417 which is not Littles machine but i have a 203SQD B/W photo of the whole SQD and all the camels are the same scheme so all you have to do is change the serial no to B6318............
The Triplane is the one i was planning on building sometime in the future cause it's the most colourful A/C he flew..............
BTW my scanner is broke (leaky ink cartidge) so i'll try taking a pic of the plates with the digital camera so's i can post em up for you.................

Tweets found one on the web.....................

this one is different to the pic i have, mine shows the forward section of the rudder white with a red love heart + a red fueselage band, another book i have called Australian Air Aces by Dennis Newton states that he flew 2 Triplanes...............
I found the pic here http://www.australianflyingcorps.org/ ...........

Thanx for the congrats guys.

WASMEx is one big model fest and I loved the whole thing. Mike spoiled me by buying me two vinyl stegosauruses and I have a smaller plastic one at home -- guess whose going to build a stegosaurus family diorama.

BTW great meeting you Sam; and I agree we should rename madmike to Thorpy.

Cheers all

Here's some info from Roy from southern sky models about an upgrade kit for the 1/48 326 macchi , thought some of you might be intrested..

Just following up on your WASMEX enquiry.
No release date or pricing available yet, but I can confirm that Hawkeye will issue a Macchi upgrade set, most likely within the next few months.
It will contain a cockpit tub upgrade, and OzMods 90gal wing tip tanks and gun pods. Further detail not known.
I will be unavailable for a few weeks from later this month, but if you like, I'll pass an update later in October.
Roy.

I hope the resin is of good qulity in these sets as sometimes it is not as crisp as it ought to be.

Thanks for the info Mike!

Well, if people made the things right in the first place, we wouldn't have to go behind them and tinker with it till it goes like a rocket.Wink [;)]

Seriously though, some of the most brilliant ideas, inventions and cures came from Australian minds, and have had to be sold OS 'cause few here no a good thing when they see it.
And with all our intelligence and ability to create, we go and purchase some scrappy ol' second hand tanks and choppers.PFFFFT!Confused [%-)]

Sorry, had to get that off my chest

The boomerang and didge thing is true, Chris and mrs madmike, but the funny thing is, things aren't what they seem.
Just like the planes were moking, the didge and boomerang aren't made in Australia that much anymore.
My younger brother works in a retail store here, selling 'local' items, and yet most of the Aboriginal stuff he sells, is imported from OS!!!!!

Sad but true.

Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]
This is spooky, I was searching for a Tripe last night, and went and checked out the Eduard site, and decided to go with the Eduard kit.

As for the version, I'm not sure, have to do some more research.
I'll let you know when I get the kit etc, but same as most people, all in good time.

Or the other saying,

Fools never differWink [;)]

After this Sabre, I certainly feel a tad foolish.

Actually, I'm leaning towards thinking it wouldn't have been such a problem if I had used the Hasegawa donor kit.

Will find out on the next one I do.

That saying would probably be more accurate when one considers the SabreBig Smile [:D]
Iv'e already decided to ditch the Academy kit in favour of the Hasegawa kit, apparently the highplanes conversion was originally designed for the Hase kit,but i imagine it's still gonna need a lot of filler and patience......................

I hope it goes well for ya Mike.

This weekend I'm laying down some base coat onto the Sabre.
Was gonna do it during the week, but work got in the way, and my lil' man had his 1st birthday on Thursday, so had to prioritise that one.
Thursday-Work
Volleyball
Sons B'day

He goes to sleep around 11 pm, so we had a riot of a time.
But now, it's model time, and the Sabres gonna cop it, while drying, gotta suss out the 109.
