I know this is a newbie question, but, what's O&E please?
2012 A/B/C: 10/3/0 (Acquired/Binned/Completed)
There was a section in here called Odds & Ends, for non-modeling conversations. During the last few months, it turned into "the place where arguments start & threads got locked..."
On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister
Sprue-ce Goose Medicman71: p38jl: the cooler Months are best for me to build.. RIP... O & E... Cooler temps mean no humidity. Which in turn means better painting. No paint drying before it hits the model (see my Tomcat for an example of that). except for me: I've been doing last minute exterior trim painting, now that the summer long ( almost every day ) rainy season has lifted. Next up: cut , bend and install 3 pieces of 8 foot strips of white painted aluminum sheet metal to replace the stuff torn off during one of this summer's 50 + MPH wind storms.

WOW - that's some big-scale photo-etch buddy!

From the imploding O+E forum?
I missed the event and can only imagine the damage done to spectators and new members watching from the side lines. Parties are better when a live grenade is NOT tossed into the room.
Regardless have not been building models this summer hence nothing to add to a modeling forum.
Needless to say hope this situation will turn around as I have the building desire to soldier model on!
Carry on styrene soldiers, will be around once production resumes!

Jason! You've got your hands full on the homefront, probably shouldn't mix that with exacto knives & solvents anyway! Looking forward to your impending return.
Who's got time to post when there's these to be finished:
Someday, I'll get back to the twin-engined bombers at the back of the hanger too.

Can't build at work
Can't build while waiting for the kids to fall asleep...
Can't paint when the bench is dismantled for the move...

You'd have to imagine it, Sup-Fire, since it's more than likely that the "damage" was indeed, imaginary... Dunno what folks got so all uptight about "damage".... I don't want to open another arguement, but I must state for the record that statements like that bug hell outta me... I only KNOW of one member that popped smoke and called for extraction directly attributed to the O&E forum (due to it's demise, however, not it's existence)... I read waayyy more tear-stained and drawn-out good-byes from members over the forum's last change of format than anything written/argued about in O&E... Heck, I still read about it here & there...
Granted, there were some threads that were "punch/counter-punch", but as I pointed out earlier in the fallout dump, there are 21 ENTIRELY MODEL-RELATED forums in this website... Some folks were acting like there were absolutely NO other places to to ask and answer all things modeling...
And, some of the most prolific protesters of its very existance were also some of its most prolific posters in it... As the poet said, "That's the fact, Jack"...
Whoops.. Just remembered that it's Friday, so I'll not be saying anything more on O&E until after Monday, just to make sure this thread's still here...

Heeeeeeeyyy Hans! We hate to see you go; but love to watch you leave!!
On the bench: AFV Club M730A1 Chaparral
On deck: Tamiya Marder 1A2
In the hole: Who knows what's next!
The only can that should be opened this weekend is cranberry sauce! (thanksgiving in Canada eh!)
Not sure what 'Columbus day' is about yet have fun.
Tanks Vance, I too am looking forward to building a model again...
Good advice, Hans. Everybody have a good weekend.
Cheers, Aaron

I don't know that "sauntering" is quite right either.....
SuppressionFire Not sure what 'Columbus day' is about yet have fun.
It's the celebration of the day the natives discovered Columbus!
"Sauntering" is a slow walk... It's not "sashaying"... I ain't a Sailor...
Never saw Fort Riley. I was with our reinforced, forward deployed brigade based in Germany. The only permanent duty station I saw stateside was Fort Carson, Colorado right after the Gulf War.
We had a cool training area there called Pinon Canyon. Peyote grew wild there! ;) Between that and the little bottles of Robotussin we'd get from the medics it's a wonder I've got any brain cells left!
Why do I keep getting this image of Hans prancing around in an evening gown???

... Shows how much YOU know... One doesn't "prance around " in a gown of any sort... One must "glide"...
Hmm... This thread has taken a somewhat disturbing turn in the wrong direction...
Well, it is a weekend..............wouldn't be normal around the FSM forum if something strange or disturbing wasn't posted.
'Strange things are done at the keyboard for fun by the men who toil with models.
The midday sun should inspire one to take up a outdoor dare or even yard care,
You can almost bet the dust ain't settled yet before the paint leaves the bottle!
Although good intent is often bent without offering a mere decal to spare.
The regulars have found decent folks around the FSM forums stick it out!
No need to leave or spin and weave a silk purse out of a sows ear,
'Cause the internet is no reason to get bent, the screen can't hear you shout!
On to other topics friends, it came to a end the day Aaron cremated the O+E.
