Adaster

My modeling area (table) is off limits to the wife and the dogs. The wife has an incredible knack of picking up wet models, snapping off antennas, landing gear, props, ect, ect. ect. This morning woke up and went to my modeling area (table) and my B17 fuselage halfs were where I put them last night but all of the windows on the right fuselage were missing. After a quick search I fould all five windows on the floor. I suspect the wife only because the dogs normally don't put things back after they knock them off my table.

I believe what you have is an unkown invisible entity common in homes with wives, children, and pets. It usually manifests itself by breaking only your stuff. It is also know to take away your tools. This enity will place these tools in places only occupied by wives and children who will of course deny any knowledge of how the tool got to its location. This devious creature will also sometimes arrange the broken item in such as way as to make you think you broke it when you pick it up or move it. Occassionally this entity apparently will sometimes feel remorseful and actually try to repair your item. Children and wives are typically as flabergasted as your are as to how these things happen!

One positive note is that this entity will gradually reduce but not totally eliminate its behavior when children move out of your house to live on their own. Its also know to reduce its behavior anytime the wife leaves the home for an extended period of time.

Yeah, Twinkies will last forever.

So I figure when they go out of production only I will have them!

In six months I'll be able to sell them on ebay for fifty bucks a box!!!

Remember the big 'New' Coke fiasco?

Is that the worst thing you guys have to worry about? Now with Hostess filing for bankruptcy I'm trying to figure where to store these three pallets of Twinkies I ordered.

Get 'em while you can folks!

I put one twinkie in with every model in my stash. Urban legend has it they are good for 30 years.

..I prefer cupcakes....but not from the second row.....Ick!

BTW.....what does the "Hausfrau " or - better half? Embarrassed -say about your kit building hobby?

Despite my taking over the kitchen table, she's actually alright with it. Cheaper than lottery addiction, safer than drinking and less toxic than smoking. Mostly. She's even helped me find more than a few tiny pieces that shot off into nowhere. We both, however, wish I had a little more room somewhere else in the house to keep "my bench" and display shelves set up in.

any chance of hanging a small folding table on a wall near an outlet in a side room?

Possibly. We're in a fairly small town-house setup. There is a spare bedroom upstairs, which quickly turned into the "this is where everything goes when we can't think of someplace else for it to go..." room. We did some foundation repairs last summer that seem to have taken care of some water leakage issues we always had to deal with. Looks like the crawl-space basement is safe for storage now but will require a good cleanup, paint on the floor, closing up the open floor joists etc.

Or.... I could turn that area into my man-cave. I'd just have to work on a short table, sitting on the floor! Hmm

That is how I ended up in the basement...SWMBO couldn't find a better place for ME to go.  LOL

Sooo..... you "suspect the wife" but have yet to determine the guilty?

I bet that makes for an..... interesting conversation.

One of the advantages of working out of the garage - the wife and dogs never go near the bench. The kids do, out of curiosity, but they're not of an age where we let them out there unattended yet.

If I set up inside, I'm reasonably certain our yellow lab would consume half my paint. He's eaten rocks, metal, wood and every kind of plastic known to man, so what's a little acrylic?
