Hey all,
I actually searched for it, but I can't find anything about this on the forum, sooooooo, I just made one myself! What's in your stash guys? I'll just start with showing what's in mine. This is the 'main stash', got quite some, last year I only had about 6 boxes.
It doesn't take too long to amass a stash.
MIne is down to about 30, with a Semovente on my bench. I'm trying to be really picky anymore. When I first got back into the hobby deep, I bought a lot of outdated Tamiya and italeri kits. As new releases popped up, I sold them all off, as I didn't want to go backwards per say.
These posts come up time to time.
Eric
I can only try and remember what's in my stash. Two years ago I had to forfeit my shop to create a nursery. This stash is boxed in a storage unit waiting for our new house. In the meantime I've accrued about 50 or so more that are shelved in our garage (boy does my wife love me). I can't wait to break into all those boxes in the storage unit. I'm sure I've forgotten about many and will be pleasantly surprised. The first one I plan on doing is my Tamiya 1/32 Zero. Or my Monogram B-29. Or my Trumpeter 1/32 F-14D. Or my 1/48 Revell F-15E. It's gonna be like Christmas!

I've got close to 30 i think.
I've been pretty good - haven't bought any this year. Acquired about 5 or so last year, only 1 the year before - have been trying to build them rather than just collect them.
Despite the relatively low number (compared to some others) i still have trouble deciding upon the next kit to build...

PS: DiscoStu: how's the F-14 build going? I'm still yet to acquire the Academy kit for my stash, but hope to have it one day.
Chris
Ive knocked the number down over the summer, but I still have over 30 in the stash:
there's another stack on the other side, mostly 1/48 scale ww2 and some 1/72 scale stuff
------------------------
Now that I'm here, where am I??
tigerman It doesn't take too long to amass a stash.
Tigerman: just noticed all the kanji on your Hasegawa kits - is that because you purchased them/imported from Japan? Or are they sold like that where you are? (PS: i'm assuming you're based in the US).
Some of it:
More of it:
Not all of it. Cool thing is I found some really great spots for tucking new acquisitions away. There's a deep drawer that fits Hasegawa's 1/32 kits almost exactly. Got a 190 Dora, 109G-6 and Ki-44 in there. There's a shelf on the old entertainment center I use as a backstop to my bench that's PERFECT for the bigger 1/48 Monogram boxes. It's holding the Black Cat PBY, B-24J and Ju 88.
Planning to sell of some chunks of the stash I just know I'm never going to build. But that's a hard game to play.
On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2
On Deck: 1/350 HMS Dreadnought

And..here:
Accumulated over the past several years. I also have some huge drawers full of paint, etc. etc...
It has reached 'critical mass'...

I couldn't resist!
The stash four years ago (Jan, 2008):
And now (more or less)!
There's a little over 100 now in the stash.

Thanks for this thread....the stash has been dying to get re-organized!
Pulled everything out and stacked it up.
With everything organized by box size more-so than subject relation, I can probably squeeze in another 20 or so!!!!!
WOW Fermis - that is an awesome display cabinet you've got!

Yes, I live in the US and purchased them all here. I got the Frank, Jack and Val at model shows for a total of $36. Two of them were sealed!

Rob:
Very nicely stored stash.
Kinda reminds me of the vault scene in the movie "Goldfinger"........................
Nice seeing those Aurora armor kits, BTW.

Being a psychology major (yeah, it's about as marketable as an art history major) I could come up with all sorts of rationalizations for why one ends up hoarding a styrene stash. I will only say that it's much less disturbing and dirty than being a cat person shut-in.
Science is the pursiut of knowledge, faith is the pursuit of wisdom. Peace be with you.
On the Tarmac: 1/48 Revell P-38
In the Hanger: A bunch of kits
Holy cat, man! You could have a lot of fun with a laser pointer in there. Yes, dirty. Bathtub as a litter box?
I seem to be maintaining between 25-30. I build a few and by a few
I'm liking that Akagi and Independence in your stash Anthony.
tigerman I'm liking that Akagi and Independence in your stash Anthony.
Thanks Erik,I'm saving them for a a few years after I retire and move out of state. There is no way that I want to try and move a completed Akagi across state lines,it probably wouldn't survive, but I really am looking forward to diving in to the both of them.

Here's my current stash. I'm going to out IPMS model show at the end of the month so that stash may expand some.
I'm liking a lot of stuff that I see here, I thaught that my stash would be small, compared to other stuff I've allready seen on the net, seems that I'm quite wrong...Fermis You're welcome, I was waiting and waiting to find one, but got sick of it and made my own now.
Medicman, be sure to upload your new aquirements by then!Next week I'm going to have a few new of my own, maybe we could make this a (sticky) buy and stash topic?if it's popular enough...With regards, Ninetalis.
Here's my own, relatively modest stash, starting with a set of shelves to the left of my bench:
panning left to the shelves behind me when I sit at the bench:
and next traveling up from the cellar to the spare bedroom on the first floor:
and a box on the floor in that room:
I took those at least a year ago. The stack on the right side of the photo from the spare bedroom now reaches to the top of the frame, and includes the Revell-Monogram Ventura, and the newer RM P-47 bubbletop, among some odds and ends.
There are also some small (about 8"x4"x4") plastic storage bins on and under the bench, with more of my kit figure stash. Oh, and some copier paper box lids that I use for storage trays for figures, scattered about the horizontal surfaces in the basement. I'd like someday to get a wheeled sheet pan rack from the restaurant trade, add pieces of 1/2" plywood for shelves, and use it as a storage caddy at the bench.
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.
I think that it's pretty neat to get a glance at everyone's hoard- it helps flesh out that poster's modeling interests.
Sweet mother - Rob Gronovius is running his very own LHS...
Most of my stash is tucked away in Rubbermaid storage bins, not easy to photograph all at once. I've got a list 80+, but lists just aren't as impressive as pics. I'll post something later.

Good god Baron, you've been building in that place all the time?I wouldn't be able do to that at all...Dre, Indeed, that's why I started this thread, I really like to see other people's stash, sometimes you see boxes that you didn't even know they excisted, or that you hadn't found yet.VanceCrozier, great, we'll be waiting right here! With regards, Ninetalis.
Can't wait to see Manny's. He probably has a storage locker full of them. Or should I say "cooler"?
